Momenta Charitable Trust

Momenta Charitable Trust Momenta helps people with lived experience of disability to access a world of opportunities.

We provide 1:1 coaching and mentorship to help you uncover what you value and how you can achieve your goals. Everyday life isn’t always designed to work easily for people with lived experience of disability. It can be difficult to take the most basic steps towards living a life of value (independence and autonomy) - as the pathway isn’t always clear, and barriers exist to inclusion. Momenta build

s capability and capacity in the community and directly with clients. Through our life-enhancing, innovative programmes, we aim to help clients create a life of value, a life they love. We aim to be the kickstart, the incentive and our client’s biggest supporters. We help them create the momentum needed to live the type of life they value. When Daniel started working with Momenta in his final year of school, he had a passion for technology and a strong drive to learn.

Fast forward to today… he’s turned that passion into something incredible 💻
Daniel has developed his own wellbeing app, Koi: Daily Progress designed to help people build positive habits, set meaningful goals, and create momentum in everyday life.

What began as a personal idea has grown into a real tool supporting others, built from scratch through curiosity, persistence, and a focus on progress over perfection.

Daniel’s journey is a powerful example of what can happen when people are supported to explore their strengths, take action, and create something meaningful.

✨ “I want to say yes to what is coming next and feel confident doing so.”

This is what growth can look like.

At Momenta, we’re always inspired by the journeys people are on, building confidence, exploring new opportunities, and backing themselves to take that next step.

Saying “yes” doesn’t mean having it all figured out. It can simply mean being open, feeling ready, and knowing you have support around you.

We’re proud to walk alongside people as they build that confidence in their own way, at their own pace. 💙

📣 Have your say to help shape disabled people’s rights in Aotearoa

Disabled Persons Assembly NZ - DPA is inviting people to take part in the Finding Common Ground survey. An opportunity to help shape a shared Declaration of Disabled People’s Rights.
Your voice matters. This survey is all about gathering ideas on what’s important to disabled people, and their families, whānau, and carers, and what a strong, inclusive declaration should include.

📝 The survey is open from 16 May to 18 June 2026

👉 Take part here: https://dpa.org.nz/dpa-projects/finding-common-ground/finding-common-ground/
✔️ You can skip questions
✔️ You don’t have to finish for your answers to count
✔️ All ideas are welcome

This is a great chance to contribute to something that will help guide the future of rights, inclusion, and community in Aotearoa. Please feel free to share with your networks 💬

We loved seeing Brayden’s volunteering journey shared by Volunteering Services💙
From a shy starter to a confident contributor, Brayden’s story is a fabulous example of what can happen when people are supported to grow in their own way. Great mahi Brayden! 👏

From shy starter to community standout... say kia ora to Brayden! 👋

We are so stoked to share his story and how volunteering isn't just about the mahi we do for others. It is also about building confidence and, for outdoorsy Brayden, a chance to connect with Papatūānuku while doing good for the team at Waipuna Hospice.

At Momenta, our work is all about supporting people to step into valued roles in their community so they can choose and go after a life they love. 💛

A big part of this is building strong connections, linking the people we work alongside with opportunities that match their interests, strengths, and goals. ✨

While our team actively builds relationships across the Bay of Plenty, we also know there are incredible individuals and businesses who want to be part of this journey.

📣 If that’s you—here is your calling!

We are looking for:

🤝 MENTORS
People willing to share their skills, lived experience, or professional expertise to support someone’s growth, confidence, and future possibilities.

🏭 WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES
Local employers or businesses who can offer real‑world experience. whether it’s a few hours, a day a week, or a short-term placement, so individuals can explore career pathways and build practical skills.

If you’re keen to give back, share your experience, and make a positive impact in your community, we’d love to hear from you.
