Last Friday we celebrated the 30th anniversary of Te Tuinga Whānau becoming an independent organisation.

We are incredibly grateful for the support from those who attended this special day for the aroha and kōrero shared.
Thank you to those who, past and present, have committed time and effort into weaving our community together.

Ngā mihi nui.

Today we opened Whare Kaa under the guidance of whaea Sylvia. Whare Kaa is the second whare kaumātua we have opened and is specifically for our kuia. Thank you to those who attended to bless the whare and engaged in our whakawhanaungatanga.

'Tauranga’s history is being brought to life through a film made by fusing local stories and artificial intelligence.

It’s a collaboration between local support services trust Te Tuinga Whanau and German film company Atara Film, with the purpose of educating children in schools on the region’s history.'
