Today, we're proud to introduce a new look for the Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust, reflecting who we are now and where we're heading next. Our new brand honours the people, places and purpose that define us, from our iconic maunga to the lifesaving service our team provides every day.

While our look has evolved, our commitment remains the same: providing professional, dependable aeromedical care for the people of Taranaki and beyond.

This is more than a new logo. It's a symbol of our growth, our community, and a new era for rescue helicopter services in our region.

An early start for your Taranaki Rescue Helicopter this morning!

The crew were dispatched to a patient experiencing a medical event near ลŒpunake, landing in a field close to the property - without scaring too many cows this time!

Following treatment at the scene, the patient was flown to Taranaki Base Hospital for further care.

We want to give a huge thank you to the generous people in our community who donated $31,106 for your Taranaki Rescue Helicopter via the Westpac Chopper Appeal!

The Westpac Chopper Appeal has been an incredible supporter to New Zealandโ€™s nationwide rescue helicopter network for 44 years, and in 2026 raised a record-breaking $1.98m for rescue helicopters nationwide.

How good is that!

Our first three containers have arrived at the new hangar, fully kitted out to form our new ready room, gear room and medical room.

A huge thank you to Halliburtonโ€™s for generously providing their forklift, equipment and time to help us unload and position the containers.

Your Taranaki Rescue Helicopter was recently called for an inter-hospital transfer from Hawera to Waikato Hospital for a baby in distress.

Unfortunately, weather conditions in the King Country prevented the crew from reaching Waikato, so they returned to New Plymouth and transferred the baby to Taranaki Base Hospital ๐Ÿš
