Ngāmotu New Plymouth Parents Centre A leading provider of childbirth education, parent education and support services to parents. Parenting is a vital role in the community.

We are passionate about the importance of quality parenting; focusing not just on the children but also on the parents. Parents Centre is a community based not-for-profit organisation set up by parents for parents in 1952. New Plymouth Parents Centre was one of the first to be established, in 1957, and we are still going strong, helping parents with parenting. We hold antenatal classes, either as

night sessions over 6 weeks or a weekend format over 2 weeks. Please contact us to find out more about upcoming antenatal classes. We also hold a weekly playgroup, with parent/caregiver attendance for children under 5 to be able to engage, learn and participate through play in a safe, stimulating child-friendly environment. It is the most important job any of us will ever experience and it should be recognised, valued and supported by decision-makers, authorities, health and education professionals and the community in general. New Plymouth Parents Centre believes that prospective parents have the right to quality parenting and childbirth education and information, enabling them to make informed decisions on their parenting role.
