The Big Morning Run is back 🏃‍♀️🌞
Taking place Friday 16 October, this nationwide initiative brings clubs, communities and organisations together for Mental Health Awareness Week, supporting the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand

This year’s theme is belonging – and what better example of that than moving together? Whether that’s a run, a walk, moving at your own pace, or a coffee and kōrero afterwards, it’s about finding the space, activity and way that works for you, while connecting with those around you.

For the past three years, Sport Taranaki staff have used the Big Morning Run as a chance to get together for some morning movement, a coffee and a good kōrero. ☕️

Today is all about recognising and thanking the incredible coaches who help make sport happen across Aotearoa New Zealand.
For us, it’s a chance to recognise the coaches we work with, support, and see making a real difference in our communities across Taranaki.

Meet Sam, one of our Green Prescription Taranaki Advisors! She’s also a yoga instructor at Nuku Yoga . We had the pleasure of visiting her studio last week for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, where she shared her reo Māori learning journey and how she is integrating the reo in her yoga classes.🧘‍♀️

Sam hosts her reo Māori yoga class every Monday, 12:15pm at Nuku Yoga studio. The class is kore utu (free) and everyone is welcome, Sam describes is at the beginning of her reo Māori learning journey and wanted to create a space where fellow learners can come together and learn through movement! 💚

Shelley has been an amazing instructor with the Moveable programme for the past 18 months, bringing her energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to all of the students she has worked with.

She is now moving on to an exciting new teaching role at an Early Childhood Education Centre. To thank her for all her hard work and commitment, Guy presented her with a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates on behalf of Sport Taranaki.
