We would like to congratulate our Hutt Valley Category winners at last week's Hutt Valley Sports Awards.

Young Sportsman of the Year - Tyrone Robinson
Coach of the Year - Kiri Shaw

A special mention also to the Beyond the Beyond The Dugout team winning the Media Contribution of the year award.

Congratulations also to our other finalist nominees from the Hutt Valley.

The Hutt Valley Softball Association and the Hutt Valley Umpires Association are saddened to hear of the passing of long time Hutt Valley Umpire Trevor Stratford on Friday May 15th.

Trevor not only Umpired in the Hutt Valley he was a former Player and Coach at the Wainuiomata Softball Club, 'Straty' was bestowed a life membership award by the Hutt Valley Softball Association in 2013 and life membership followed again in 2014 with the Hutt Valley Umpires Association.

'Straty' was very much loved in the Softball community and our thoughts are with Karen and the family at this time.

Trevor's funeral will be held on Tuesday May 19th at 2pm at Gee & Hickton Funeral Directors in Lower Hutt.

Congratulations also to Auckland's Ryan Earley, great tournament for both of them.
