Sustainable sewist, Meron McCardle, will be sharing the joy of clothing alteration and mending for q***r bodies!

Intro to customising your clothing workshop - the power of scissors! - a 30 minute workshop demonstrating how easy it is to customise clothing with just a pair of scissors. No sewing machine needed. They’ll take you through a bunch of simple techniques you can use to make your clothing your own. Feel free to bring along a t-shirt if you want to give some of these techniques a go! Just make sure you’re happy to chop it up.

Basic mending and alteration drop in - bring along an item of clothing that needs to be altered or mended! Meron will assess the garment, if it’s a quick enough fix may be able to alter it for you then and there. If it’s more time consuming, they will give you advice about how to fix it yourself or where you could pay to get it done.

Exciting news! Wellington Pride Festival will be hosting board gaymes at our whare!

Join Wellington Pride Festival for their board games night held at Te Whare Kahukura, 2/330 High Street, Hutt Central, every second Tuesday of the month, 7pm-9pm.

We'll have a mix of games from Bananagrams to scrabble to Settlers of Catan, as well as some snacks, but feel free to bring your own games and snacks too.

Everyone who comes with love and respect is welcome - if you're under 14, please bring a guardian.

Accessibility:
- Te Whare Kahukura is wheelchair accessible
- Lighting is fluorescent
- Sturdy seating is provided

Feeling crafty? Got some unfinished projects? Want to make some new friends who share the same interests?

Come along to our craft club! This month, craft club will be hosted on the 9th and the 23rd (June) from 5pm until 8pm. Everyone is welcome to join.

We have limited supplies on hand that are available for use and we encourage you to bring your own project. Think knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, drawing, beading, whatever floats your boat.
