*Queenstown Spiritual Retreat*

Bismillah

Every three months the Asturlab core team steps away from the distractions of daily life to reconnect with Allah, and to connect with the brothers at a deeper level.

This retreat is for brothers who wish to serve in the path of Allah. Three nights and four days in the company of those seeking to draw closer to Him by serving His religion.

This retreat, we will have Sheikh Ahmed Taher from Sydney Australia, and 10 of his students as well so it will be an extra special weekend inshaAllah.

Spots are limited to 5 brothers. InshaAllah those who miss out can join the next retreat in September.

Dates: 5 PM Thursday 30 July to 7 PM Sunday 2 August
Location: Queenstown
Cost: $100 (covers food, transport and accommodation)

Bismillah

Last night, Asturlabs Ummahat Sabirat hosted a special screening of Bilal, and Alhamdulillah, the venue was packed.

This event was organized to help strengthen the identity of our children while creating meaningful experiences for mothers and their children.

Moments like these stay with children for a lifetime and play an important role in shaping who they become as adults.

Our next special screening will be for fathers and their children, inshaAllah.

Bismillah

Tomorrow is the 10th of Muḥarram: ʿĀshūrāʾ.

It is a day of gratitude: the day Allah saved Mūsā عليه السلام and his people from Pharaoh. The Prophet ﷺ fasted it, and taught that fasting ʿĀshūrāʾ carries the hope of a whole year’s sins forgiven.

It is also a day of sorrow: the day Sayyidunā al-Ḥusayn رضي الله عنه, the beloved grandson of the Prophet ﷺ, was martyred at Karbalāʾ.

So we hold both: gratitude and grief, truth and love.

May Allah accept our fasting, repentance, charity and prayers. Ameen
