Maths Craft in a Box comes with 20 beautifully illustrated student zines, designed to introduce the mathematics of the Möbius strip through a series of hands-on experiments. Hundreds of pre-cut paper strips are included, you just need to provide scissors, tape, and curiosity. With enough content to easily fill several lessons, and a specially-designed Teacher zine packed with extras, the Box is ideal for Years 7–13 and can be entirely student-led. We have 400 boxes to give away.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at our pi-by-hand calculation session in the weekend to celebrate pi approximation day (22/7) last week! The human calculators absolutely smashed through all the preprepared calculations and we have now calculated 100 digits of pi and are on the way to 110.

Calling one-and-all, no matter your maths level, to help us attempt to calculate as many digits of pi as we can, using nothing but paper and pencils.

Join us at Tabletop Tūranga!

Tabletop Tūranga is a free boardgame festival bringing together game lovers, creators, and curious newcomers for a weekend of demos, workshops, talks and play. Mathateca will be there sharing some mathematical strategy games - we'll be playing Hex on Saturday and Mancala on Sunday.

We had a fantastic time at Nerd Nite last week learning about the maths of juggling, radio survey data, and fractals! A huge thank you to our speakers and to everyone who came along to think and drink with us.
