A day to remember at the local Sumner Museum with Topsy Rule at the helm who was able to pass on her stories and some of the background of Sumner. This was followed by a lovely lunch on site, a day we all shall treasure 🌻🌺 Barbara

From now until 31 July, disabled people, families, whānau and carers can have their say and help shape the next improvements to disability support services.

The community consultation runs until Friday 31 July.

The focus is on improving some key areas the community has said matter most. For example, flexibility in services, planning ahead for life changes, better information and advice, and respite for carers.

People can take part in a way that works for them:

· Complete the online survey

· Register for a workshop (online or in person – many date and time options available)

· Provide written or recorded feedback.

They don’t need to do everything — just what matters to them.

In November we celebrated the 150th anniversary of All Saints Church and memorial garden, we’re delighted to share some of the recent enhancements to this special site.

The lychgate area has been restored and reopened for visitors to enjoy, with new landscaping and garden plantings creating a welcoming space for reflection and remembrance. The memorial garden has also been refreshed with new plantings and pebbles to help preserve and enhance the area thanks to Sarah Mankelow at CCC.

Our community recently came together to plant around 300 native trees and shrubs, marking the beginning of local habitat restoration efforts within the wider Port Hills red zone.

We’re especially pleased to unveil a new interpretive panel beside the lychgate, featuring photographs and stories of the two former All Saints churches, along with information about the memorial garden and the site's history.

These improvements have been made possible through the generosity of church members, volunteers, supporters, and a trust grant. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to preserving and celebrating the legacy of All Saints and memorial garden for future generations.
