Sunday, 8th November 2026 - from 9AM to 4.30PM

Get your group together and fill the car, there's something for everyone.

This year, ALL NEW sheds are packed with surprises, including:
• Cars, radios and hub caps collection
• Pounamu carving studio
• Train sets
• Lego shed
• Rustic metal sculpture
Plus plenty more fun and quirky treasures to be found! There is something for everyone--whatever your interests, background or identity.

Christchurch 360 Trail

Over the month of October, one of our members Jennifer Kay Helms will be walking the 360 trail. Her purpose is to:
1. Draw attention to the trail (or as she calls it, the Camino de Christchurch).
2. Highlight the charitable works of Rotary Clubs involved with each leg of the trail.
3. Finish up with the final leg on 31 October along the Waimakariri stop banks from Brooklands, stopping to showcase the Kāinga Hall restoration and our wetland habitat restoration work.
4. Fundraise for Greenpeace as part of the October Walk for Nature campaign.

Please support Jennifer Kay by donating, or by joining her on any leg of her walk.

Planned route:
Startng Sunday 4th October at Whites Crossing (near SHI Waimakariri Bridge) and travelling west
along Waimakariri Braids leg.
Ending Saturday 31st October at Whites Crossing after completng Brooklands Mouth leg.

 17th October Avonhead Gardens – Rotary Club of Avonhead / Rotary Club of Papanui

 25th October Godley Cliffs – Summit Road Society
 26th October Estuary Marshes – Rotary Club of Ferrymead
 30th October Dunes Wetlands – Rotary Club of Bishopdale Burnside
 31st October Brooklands Mouth – Rotary Club of Belfast-Kaiapoi
*weekday dates may apply if not all of leg completed on day

Nature needs people to step up and defend it.

We were happy to show local MP Reuben Davidson around Kāinga Creek reserve this afternoon. He wandered the native plantings, and climbed over the odd fence with us, so we could share a vision for habitat restoration and beautification of the area. We finished up with a quick look in at Kāinga Hall to see the restoration work underway. It was such a beautiful sunny, peaceful day in the neighbourhood, we stood outside watching a young lad in a go-cart zip around Kāinga Park, and nobody wanted to leave!

It's humbling to have broad support from both local and central government representatives, especially when they take time out of their busy schedules to visit us. There's lots happening behind the scenes with Kāinga Preservation Group projects and Kāinga Residents Association events planned! So keep following us for updates and invites over the next few weeks!

Shout out to Martin, Chair of Rotary Ōtautahi Passport (absent from photo) for popping down to confirm the club's continuing support for all things Kāinga.

A great follow up article on the Shelter Bags that Rotary clubs have been donating in our Communities. Our club purchased some and they were given to the Christchurch City Mission to distribute to those in need. The OrangeSky community group are also working along side the City Mission to distribute the Shelter Bags to those in need

An Auckland man who has been sleeping rough for months says the gift of a shelter bag was a game-changer this winter, helping him stay warm while waiting for housing.
