Auckland University Students' Association or AUSA was founded in 1891 to provide a united and representative voice to students of the University of Auckland and to deliver an expansive range of services and events that students want and need. The founding philosophy is student control of student affairs, and AUSA is run by students, for students. AUSA is a voluntary student association and it cost

s nothing to join. AUSA brings you awesome events such as O-Week and Party in the Spark. We also brings you Craccum Magazine, Shadows Bar, 95bFM, and UBIQ. We are also your voice in the University – if you don’t like something or want something changed, anything from issues with your course to there not being enough computers in the library to issues with your landlord, come and see us! AUSA Elections 2026: Update on Voting Dates

Kia ora everyone,

We need to share an update on this year's AUSA Elections.

AUSA has been working with the University since October 2025 to secure a safe, verified platform to run student voting, including proper data security checks and student sign-on. Despite raising this early and following up consistently, the University has not been able to confirm the platform is ready and secure in time for voting to open as planned on Monday.
As a result we are delaying the start of the voting period by one week until Monday 24 August.
Voting will now open at 8:00am on 24 August and close at 5:00 pm on 28 August.
We know this delay is frustrating, especially for our candidates who have been campaigning hard. This is not something AUSA wanted or caused and we've pushed for a solution since last year. But ensuring your vote is safe, secure, and counted properly is non-negotiable for us and we won't open voting until we're confident that's guaranteed.
We'll share further updates as soon as we have them. Thank you for your patience.
