Over three inspiring days, our Les Clefs d'Or New Zealand members, together with Concierge, Porter, and Front Office professionals from hotels across New Zealand, had the opportunity to experience some of the country's most iconic visitor attractions through the ExperienceKart Luxury Travel FAMIL Invitation.

20th July – Volcanic & Cultural New Zealand FAMIL
From the colourful geothermal landscapes of Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland to the unforgettable Te Pā Tū Cultural Experience, the day offered valuable insights into New Zealand's rich natural and cultural heritage.

22nd July – Hobbiton & Waitomo FAMIL
Exploring the world-famous Hobbiton™ Movie Set and the breathtaking Waitomo Glowworm Caves provided firsthand knowledge of two of New Zealand's most celebrated visitor experiences.

24th July – Wildlife & Wellness FAMIL
From The National Kiwi Hatchery and the Redwoods Treewalk to the magical Redwoods Glowworm Cave and the restorative Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa, the journey showcased the perfect blend of wildlife, nature, and wellness.

On Thursday 16th July, Westfield Newmarket invited Members of Les Clefs d'Or New Zealand and Professional Affiliates to explore the new shops and events that are happening over in Westfield

We were given a guided tour through high end luxury section of Jimmy Choo's & David Jones, learning about how our guests can enhance their shopping experience. We visted the new JB-Hifi store, a project long in the making and see what Westfield offers to children during School Holidays.

A special highlight of the afternoon was our bowling event at Archie Brothers, which was a fantastic way to conclude the visit and spend quality time together.

We truly appreciate the time and effort taken to showcase everything Westfield Newmarket has to offer. Thank you, Rae, for your continued support of Les Clefs d’Or. We look forward to strengthening our partnership and working together on many future opportunities.

Congratulations to the InterContinental Auckland team for achieving the highest overall score at the All Blacks Experience Challenge Shield and being crowned the Challenge Shield Champions for this semester!

On 8th July, the Les Clefs d'Or New Zealand Executive Committee visited InterContinental Auckland to officially present the Challenge Shield to Andy Xu, Andrew Glubb, and Trung Kiên, recognising their outstanding teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to service excellence.

A huge congratulations once again to the InterContinental Auckland team on this well-deserved achievement. We look forward to the next Challenge Shield competition and another opportunity to celebrate excellence in hospitality.

On Thursday, 25th June, we were kindly invited by Susan O’Connor, Business Development Manager at Matakana Estate, to enjoy lunch and a tour of their beautiful rustic lodge.

During our visit, Susan shared with us the exciting future plans for the estate, including the upcoming launch of their newly revamped restaurant, which is expected to open in the coming weeks. She also introduced us to their unique wine blending experiences, where guests can create their own personalised wine blend, as well as their cellar door wine tastings showcasing their selection of estate wines.

Matakana Estate also offers boutique vineyard accommodation, providing guests with the opportunity to relax and immerse themselves in the tranquil surroundings of the estate. With its combination of rustic luxury, food and wine experiences, and personalised guest activities, Matakana Estate presents a wonderful option for visitors looking for a memorable countryside escape close to Auckland.

It was a wonderful opportunity to experience the hospitality, charm, and future developments of Matakana Estate, and we look forward to recommending these experiences to our guests.

On Monday, 22nd June, the Auckland Les Clefs d’Or New Zealand members gathered at the All Blacks Experience for the Semester Challenge Shield 2026.

The Challenge Shield is a friendly concierge competition that brings together Les Clefs d’Or teams from hotels across New Zealand for a fun and engaging skills tournament. The event celebrates teamwork, quick thinking, communication, and industry knowledge, while strengthening the friendships and professional connections that unite our concierge community.

A special thank you to Cecil Potatau, Sales Manager at the All Blacks Experience, for hosting the event and welcoming our members. Cecil also guided participants through an immersive tour of this iconic New Zealand attraction, providing an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

This year’s Challenge Shield welcomed participation from six hotels: Hilton Auckland, InterContinental Auckland, Grand Millennium Auckland, Pullman Auckland Hotel & Apartments, The Grand by SkyCity and Horizon by SkyCity

Each hotel was represented by a team of three members, including at least one Les Clefs d’Or member. Teams competed across four rugby-inspired challenges: Passing Drill, Line-out Throw, Goal Kicking & Footwork Challenge

Congratulations to Andy Xu, Andrew Glubb, and Trung Kiên from InterContinental Auckland, who achieved the highest overall score and were crowned the Challenge Shield Champions for this semester.

Beyond the competition itself, the event was a wonderful celebration of friendship, teamwork, and the strong bonds that continue to define the Les Clefs d’Or community. A friendly rivalry, perfectly reflecting the spirit of our association and the values we proudly represent.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and contributed to making the Challenge Shield another memorable occasion.

During the Opening Reception of the 32nd Annual General Meeting of Les Clefs d’Or New Zealand, it was our great honour to welcome and officially introduce our newest Les Clefs d’Or member, Ms. Yveline Corthier, Assistant Chief Concierge at Hilton Auckland.

We were especially privileged to have our UICH International President, Mr. James Ridenour, join us for the pinning ceremony, a historic moment, as it was the first time we have had the honour of hosting an International President for this special occasion.

As presented by Gustavo Co**ha, Society President, Yveline’s professional journey in hospitality began in Berlin, Germany, where she developed a deep passion for the industry. She gained valuable experience working in Front Office roles across Berlin, Cannes, and Milan. It was during her time in Milan that Yveline discovered her true passion for the Concierge profession, a career path that perfectly aligns with her personal values: a dedication to excellence, the desire to make every guest feel unique, and a commitment to creating meaningful and memorable experiences.

Before relocating to New Zealand to pursue new opportunities, Yveline became a Professional Affiliate of Chiavi d’Oro Lombardia in Italy, further strengthening her connection to the Concierge profession.

At Hilton Auckland, Yveline continued to pursue her dream of becoming a Concierge. It was not long before her dedication, passion, and professionalism saw her progress to the role of Assistant Chief Concierge, where she successfully completed her examinations to become a member of our beloved society.

Please join us in congratulating Yveline on this well-deserved achievement. We are extremely proud to welcome her into the Les Clefs d’Or family and look forward to her continued contribution to our profession and our association, a global network representing more than 4,000 members worldwide.
