WHY WE STARTED...
Laura Howard, an inspirational mother, founded Littlemore in 2013 (Auckland, New Zealand) after hearing a passing comment from her midwife about how some babies born in Auckland were sent home in baby-sized hospital gowns, as their families had no clothes for them. As a mum of a newborn herself, her heart was touched, and she knew she had to do something about it. Over the last 6 years, Littlemore has grown significantly from a tiny set up in Laura’s living room to the organisation it is today. WHAT WE DO...
We’re proud to be a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation. Littlemore receive, sort and organise your good quality pre-loved (and new) baby clothes and other baby items, so they can be donated on to families with babies living in poverty and facing serious life challenges. Your donations will help ensure every family has the essential baby items they need to nurture their babies and keep them warm and safe during the critical first year of life. It’s also a great way to give your donated items a second life, share the joy of becoming a parent, and involve your family in thinking about recycling and giving to others. AWARDS...
• Community of Year at New Zealander of Year Awards (2019) - Achievement
• Kiwibank NZ Local Hero of the Year Medal (2016) - Awarded
• Community Spirit Award at Pride of NZ Awards (2015) - Winner
• Mumtrepreneur Awards (2015) - Finalist

As part of National Volunteer Week, this year’s theme, Your Year to Volunteer – Tōu tau ki te tūao, has been chosen to mark International Year of the Volunteer 2026. We'd like to shine the spotlight on some of our incredible volunteers - the heart and soul of our mission. ❤️

They ensure donated goods are received, carefully safety checked, washed, cleaned, mended, sorted, packed, labelled, recorded and stored. They process and distribute approx. 6,500 essential baby items every week to families, youth and teen parents with newborn babies in urgent need.

They go above and beyond to make a difference in our communities. Many are studying, working full-time, raising kids, helping to care for their extended family members, yet still manage to make time to volunteer with us - their commitment to support our cause is truly inspirational. These are the everyday heroes behind the scenes. The time, energy, and love they pour into this work is what makes everything we do possible, and we are endlessly grateful for them. 🙏 Please share.

Cold babies in hardship and mummas in need of a helping hand. We love gifting donations of clothing, blankets, cots, prams and more to the hospitals and social workers we partner with. Had a warm welcome from staff when we delivered to Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei - what an awesome team to work with.

If you don’t have any baby gear to donate we would be thrilled to receive a donation to support our work, see our website or givealittle page for details. 👼🏻❤️

Thinking about how you will use your tax credit?

If you are expecting a tax credit soon and in a position to make a financial donation, please consider donating to your charity of choice. Charities like us help to fill the gaps and provide dedicated essentials to help the most vulnerable.

Make a meaningful impact now! Your support will help to keep our doors open and enable our volunteer team to provide the basic baby essentials every newborn family needs.

Donate via our secure website, Givealittle page or contact us for our bank details. Help local whānau living in hardship to nurture their babies and keep them safe and warm.

We receive no government funding. We're extremely grateful for every donation, no matter how big or small, every dollar really does count. Please spread the word. ❤️

Warm cozy pyjamas, brand new thanks to Kindness Collective Foundation and all their donors. The PJ Project is on now and they still need help. Littlemore are lucky enough to receive baby and toddler PJ’s but they are out of stock of boys size 6 and 14 if any of you can help to share with other charities. We won’t have bananas in our pyjamas lol, just babies. 👼🏻👼🏻Thank you for your baby clothing donations.
