Build the connection early.

What helps a child become a reader?

Often, it is a small moment. A book before bed. A visit to the library. A story shared by a teacher, grandparent, librarian, bookseller or friend.

That is why Mātātuhi Foundation is delighted to support New Zealand Children’s Book Week, led by Read NZ Te Pou Muramura.

Running from 15 to 21 August, the week invites communities across Aotearoa to make space for stories and celebrate the books, people and places that help young readers thrive.
