In April, 7,806 meals were shared at Haeata, 359 whānau worked alongside our housing keyworkers. 1,402 people recieved care at Calder Health Centre – many of them for the first time.

For a lot of the people these numbers represent, one thing led to another. A meal that turned into a conversation. A conversation that turned into a housing referral. A referral that turned into something that looked like stability.

That’s what showing up looks like – month after month, across our city.

Thank you for being part of it. 🩵

7,960 meals served in April at Haeata, our community dining room here at HomeGround, a space where everyone is welcome, and a meal is just the beginning. 🩵

Right now, every dollar raised for Te Tāpui Atawhai - Auckland City Mission through the Cook Off doubles.

Dilmah, OfficeMax and LMAX Group are matching every donation dollar for dollar, up to $50,000. Every $1 becomes $2 for Te Tāpui Atawhai – Auckland City Mission, until the full fund is allocated.

Head to the 2026 Cook Off fundraising page and donate to your favourite team before the match closes. 🩵

A huge thank you to New World and their incredible customers and teams across Tāmaki Makaurau. 🩵

Through the Family 2 Family Foodbank Appeal, ten New World stores supported Te Tāpui Atawhai – Auckland City Mission this winter. Albany, Remuera, Southmall, Papakura, Eastridge, Q St, Papatoetoe, Botany, Hobsonville and Newmarket. Customers grabbed a bag in store, filled it with everyday essentials, or donated a pre-filled bag online for whānau in our community.

The Cook Off is back for 2026, and we could not be more excited. 🍽️🩵

On Monday, 8 June, senior business leaders will pull on their aprons and cook a four-course meal for over 200 whānau at the NZ International Convention Centre, guided by some of Aotearoa's finest chefs. Every dollar raised goes toward funding warm meals at Haeata, Auckland City Mission – Te Tāpui Atawhai community dining room, where approximately 300 meals are served every single day.

This year's goal? $400,000, enough to fund 25,000 meals for whānau across Tāmaki Makaurau this winter.

The official Haeata kitchen tour has arrived. 🍽️

Chef Callum takes us through Auckland City Mission – Te Tāpui Atawhai community dining room, where our kaimahi and volunteers show up every single day to serve approximately 300 warm, delicious meals to our whānau.

A place where the door is always open and everyone is welcome. 🩵

“Accepted. Empowered. Like I remember who I am. Like I am part of a happy whānau.”

Tap through to read the words of our whānau at Aro ki te Hā – our day programme at HomeGround, where whānau can drop in, connect, and rest.

These words matter to us - because trust isn’t built through a single interaction. It’s built through showing up, day after day, with wraparound support that meets people where they are. This is what that looks like. 🩵

You might walk past this building every day and not know what happens inside.

"In this building we have so many services that help to enrich the whānau."

Damien, our Housing Supportive Services Team Lead, said it perfectly.

At Homeground you'll find food, health, and housing support, all in one place, all working together. And at the centre of all of it? The whānau themselves.

"We have to make sure that they have their choice in all of this. We do not decide anything for them."

Next time you walk past, you'll know what's happening inside these walls. 🩵

A generous anonymous donor has offered to match every dollar donated to us today, up to $50,000. That money will go directly to health services that are truly essential at the Te Tāpui Atawhai.

Every dollar you give today is doubled, helping us raise $100,000 for our community.

We have 24 hours. Let's do this, Tāmaki Makaurau. 🩵
