🎯 “Learn to Save More! Smart Money-Saving Tips You Need to Know!” – Event Recap 🎯

A big thank you to everyone who joined Asian Community Trust (ACT) for our free money-saving workshop today! 🙏

It was great to see that the session was not just about listening to a presentation — everyone actively shared ideas, discussed their experiences and learned from each other.

We talked about practical ways to save money in everyday life, including supermarket shopping, petrol prices, cashback, insurance, memberships, discounts and other useful money-saving tools.

💬 The discussion was so engaging that we actually went overtime! 😄

Even after the scheduled session finished, many participants stayed behind to continue sharing their own experiences, tips and ideas. It was fantastic to see people helping each other discover new ways to save money.

🤝 The event may be over, but the connection doesn't have to end here.

We encouraged participants to stay in touch and continue sharing useful information, deals, money-saving tips and everyday experiences with each other.

At ACT, we hope our activities can be more than just one-off events. We want to create opportunities for people to meet, connect, share knowledge and support one another within the community.

🌟 FREE CANTONESE CLASSES FOR SECOND- AND THIRD-GENERATION FAMILIES 🌟

Reconnect with Your Cantonese Heritage, Speak with Grandparents, and Connect with Culture

Are you from a Cantonese-speaking family and wish you could communicate more confidently with parents, grandparents, or relatives?

Many second- and third-generation Cantonese New Zealanders have not had the opportunity to learn their heritage language. Our free Cantonese classes are designed to help preserve Cantonese language and culture, strengthen family connections, and build a stronger community for future generations.

While the classes are primarily intended for second- and third-generation Cantonese families, anyone interested in learning Cantonese and exploring Cantonese culture is welcome.

~2026 Class Dates: Starting from 14 November

~Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm (Saturday)

~Venue: Glenfield Library ( 90 Bentley Avenue, Glenfield, Auckland 0629 )

不少第二代、第三代廣東裔移民子女在紐西蘭成長，因缺乏學習機會，未能掌握廣東話，與父母、祖父母或親友溝通時遇到困難。我們希望透過免費粵語班，幫助年輕一代學習廣東話，認識自己的文化根源，並加強家庭及社區聯繫。

課程歡迎：
- 第二代、第三代廣東裔家庭子女及青少年
- 希望子女學習廣東話及中華文化的家長
- 對粵語及廣東文化有興趣的人士

🌸🌳 ACT Cherry Blossom Day & One Tree Hill Hiking – 20 September 2026 🌸

What a lovely Sunday with ACT! 💚

Today we enjoyed a relaxing One Tree Hill hike, followed by a picnic under the cherry blossoms at One Tree Hill Domain. 🥾🌸🧺

The cherry blossoms weren’t fully open yet, but they were still beautiful — and perhaps even better, the area wasn’t too crowded. 😊 The peaceful and quiet atmosphere made it a really enjoyable day, with plenty of time to walk, chat, enjoy the fresh air and simply slow down together.

Sometimes, a quieter day is just what we need. 🌿💚

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. We hope you enjoyed the walk, the blossoms, the food and, most importantly, the company. 🥰

🇭🇰 Free Cantonese Class – Learn Your Hometown Language & Culture!

Our charity, Asian Community Trust, is excited to run another free Cantonese class for second-generation Chinese in New Zealand who would like to reconnect with their heritage and communicate with their grandparents in their hometown language. ❤️

We also warmly welcome anyone who doesn’t speak Cantonese but would like to learn the language and discover more about Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong culture.

📅 Start Date: Sunday, 18 October 2026
⏰ Time: 1:30pm – 3:00pm

🎉 Our Cantonese Class is Growing! 🎉

We are excited to announce the successful launch of our second Cantonese class, now being held at Highland Park Library in East Auckland!

Following the fantastic response to our first class in Epsom, we are delighted to see our Cantonese programme continue to grow. Our first class attracted over 25 participants, with learners of all ages joining us to improve their Cantonese in a fun and supportive environment.

A big thank you to our wonderful teacher, who uses an engaging and interactive teaching style that makes learning Cantonese easy, enjoyable, and practical. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to build on your existing skills, everyone is encouraged to participate and practice speaking with confidence.

We are also grateful to everyone who has supported this programme and helped make it such a success. Your enthusiasm and encouragement inspire us to continue promoting Cantonese language and culture within our community.

We look forward to welcoming even more learners to our Highland Park class and hope to see our Cantonese community continue to grow across Auckland!

Yesterday we had a wonderful BBQ lamb event at One Tree Hill for the Asian Community Trust charity 🐑🎉

We were lucky with the weather — no rain at all! We started early in the morning setting up tents and getting everything ready for the day.

A big thank you to Bobby Lamb BBQ for helping us with the charcoal grilling and preparing the delicious BBQ lamb 🔥 The lamb was juicy and full of flavour (especially the crispy fatty bits 😋).

It was a great day of food, laughter, and community connection. We also had fun games and plenty of smiles all around.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event — we truly appreciate it!
