With the typhoon hitting today, we started receiving messages even before the event began—more than a dozen friends letting us know they couldn’t make it because of the weather. Honestly, we were a bit worried it might turn out to be a quiet night.

But what truly touched us was this—so many of you still chose to show up, despite the storm. Some even made the trip all the way from Massey to the East just to be there for Ben’s talk. That moment really meant a lot, and it made everyone’s presence feel even more special.

And Ben absolutely delivered. His talk wasn’t just insightful—it was genuine, heartfelt, and full of warmth. You could feel people connecting with what he shared. By the time we got to the discussion session, everyone was so open and engaged, sharing their own thoughts and stories. The atmosphere felt real, human, and full of connection… and time just flew by.

A heartfelt thank you to every single one of you who came. Because of you, this wasn’t just a talk—it became a powerful moment of connection and support, even in the middle of a storm.

What a fantastic day we had on 6 April at Waitawa Regional Park! 🌿⛰️

Our hiking event was a great success, with everyone enjoying the beautiful farm scenery, fresh air, and time spent together as a team. It was wonderful to see such positive energy and smiles throughout the day.

After the hike, we took a relaxing walk down to the dock, where we watched people fishing and enjoyed the peaceful coastal views — a perfect way to wind down after the walk.

To wrap up the day, the team headed to Somerville for dinner, sharing good food, laughter, and great conversations. It was a perfect ending to a memorable day.

Thank you to everyone who joined and made this event so enjoyable. Looking forward to the next one!

Today our Asian Community Trust organised a volunteer activity at the Cat Foundation. 🐱🌿

Many of our members came together to help clean up the area where the cats live. We cleared rubbish, trimmed the overgrown grass, and helped tidy up the environment to make it safer and more comfortable for the cats. It was great to see everyone working together and supporting the community.

After the volunteering work, we all went for a well-deserved yum cha at Mr Lobster Private Kitchen. Good food, good company, and a perfect way to end a meaningful day.

Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed today. Small actions can make a big difference for our community and for these lovely cats. ❤️🐾

Last Saturday afternoon we had such a great time hiking around Puketutu Island 🌿
We spent close to 2 hours walking around the island, taking in the beautiful coastal views and learning more about the sustainable restoration work happening there. It’s amazing to see how the land is being carefully managed and regenerated for the future.
Along the way, we spotted black swans near the water and walked past peaceful mangrove forests — such a relaxing and refreshing experience away from the busy city life. 🌊🌱
After the hike, we headed to a restaurant in East Auckland to refuel and enjoy some good food together. Great views, great company, and lots of laughter to end the day perfectly.
Thanks everyone who joined — looking forward to the next adventure! 😊

Long Bay BBQ Gathering – A Day of Gratitude, Connection, and Sunshine

Today’s BBQ event at Long Bay Regional Park was a wonderful success, bringing together nearly 30 participants for a meaningful and enjoyable day.

Despite starting the morning with light rain, our team arrived at 9:30am full of enthusiasm and teamwork, setting up tents and preparing the venue together. Thankfully, our efforts were rewarded — by the afternoon the rain had cleared, the sun came out, and the park was filled with warmth, laughter, and great energy.

One of the highlights of the day was the ice-breaker games, which were creative, engaging, and full of fun. They helped everyone connect quickly, created plenty of laughter, and truly set the tone for a relaxed and friendly gathering.

This BBQ was more than just a social event. It was our way of saying thank you to everyone for their hard work, dedication, and support throughout the year, especially those who participated in and supported our charity activities. Your commitment and positive spirit are what make our community strong.

Looking ahead, we are excited to continue this momentum next week and into next year. Upcoming initiatives include:

Free Cantonese classes

Free opportunities for university and high school students- We will also be providing funding and hands-on opportunities to help students gain real-world experience in community event and project management, empowering them with practical skills while giving back to the community.

Both programmes and events will continue next year, and we warmly welcome anyone who is interested to get involved.

If you would like to know more or participate in future events, please feel free to message me.Thank you once again to everyone who joined us today — your presence made the day truly special
