I want to share a wonderful story about a cat named Brit (Brittany) in the words of her owner. She recently turned up at one of my beautiful friend's colonies. I scanned her for a chip & her chip was reported "missing". Read on to see what her owner had to say about having her precious baby home 🏡 after going missing for 2 and a half years!! 😻🐾

Thank you so much for contacting me
I have updated her details as found.
Below is a brief summary of her life.
Brit was born 1st September 2022, and was accidentally let out of my house in Ellerslie in early March 2024, when she was around 1.5 years old. She is the baby of my fur family, being brought up with my two older cats Mab (Female born Feb 2015) and Brompot (Male born Sept 2017), as seen in photo within one cat carrier.
I am really grateful to be reunited with her after the 2.5 year gap, during which she wander out to a cat colony at Onehunga, approx. 4 km away from original house, I was contacted on Monday 28th September 2026, just after she turn 4 years old. Brit’s microchip was scanned at this cat colony where she had been for last couple of weeks, and they saw her noted as lost within https://www.animalregister.co.nz/ . By this time I had actually given her up on being reunited.
I cannot believe that she came to me and that it only took me only three minutes to have her come to me and be able to pick her up and put her into cage.
She is currently sitting with me rubbing against my legs, she is so affectionate.
Am taking it slow to reintroduce her to my two older cats that she used to know.
I told both my sisters and had them in tears with the reunion, and had to video them once we were home for them to see her and how she reacted to me. I believe she has remembered me.
I agreed to you (Tanya) releasing this story.
Thanks again for contacting me.
