SelectUSA 2026 was more than a summit for us — it was a statement that Nepal is ready.

Proud to witness the first-ever Nepal delegation at the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Maryland, coordinated by the American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal.

From Biz Serve, Swift Fin, Codavatar, Green Tick, and Event Mo / Techcraft — we saw Nepali ICT companies step confidently into global conversations on investment, innovation, and commercial partnership.

What mattered most was not who we met, but what we built:trust, relationships, credibility, and a long-term vision for Nepal–U.S. commercial engagement.

A meaningful recognition at the Embassy of Nepal, engagements with U.S. Commerce and State Department officials, conversations with governors, chambers, investors, and economic developers — all reflected one clear reality:

Nepal is no longer only seeking aid.Nepal is ready for trade, technology, investment, and global collaboration.

One of the memorable moments was meeting Christopher Landau and sharing how commercial diplomacy and private sector leadership can help strengthen economic bridges between Nepal and the United States.

The biggest takeaway from this journey:Your network truly becomes your opportunity when built with purpose, trust, and consistency.

Grateful to every stakeholder, partner, institution, and well-wisher who made this historic delegation possible.

The conversations have started. Now comes the responsibility to turn them into action, investment, jobs, and lasting partnerships.

As Tony Robbins often emphasizes — progress happens when people stop waiting for certainty and start taking bold, consistent action. This delegation was exactly that: a leap of vision, belief, and ex*****on toward a bigger future for Nepal.

At AmCham Nepal, we believe that high performance at work is built not only on productivity, efficiency, and service delivery — but also on the well-being of the people driving it.

In today’s demanding professional environment, long working hours and constant pressure can often lead individuals to overlook one of their greatest assets: their health. Mental and cardiovascular well-being are fundamental to focus, decision-making, creativity, and sustained professional performance. A healthy mind and heart are essential for functional cognition, leadership, and long-term success.

With this vision, AmCham Nepal has partnered with Neurocare Foundation Nepal to promote preventive health awareness within Nepal’s professional and corporate community. Through this initiative, renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Prasanna Karki is engaging professionals with valuable insights on neurological health, stress management, cognitive wellness, and preventive healthcare practices.

Following a successful first session hosted at AmCham member Cedar Gate, the initiative continues today with the team at MetLife, reflecting a growing commitment toward building healthier workplaces and a stronger business culture in Nepal.

If your organization — whether an AmCham member or non-member — is interested in hosting a similar wellness and preventive health session for your team, we warmly invite you to connect with us.

Because sustainable business growth begins with healthy people.

Great initiating this energy discussion. Energy dominance will be crucial—not only as an economic driver, but as a future-proofing strategy to support the next generation of power-intensive computing, AI infrastructure, and digital industrialization.

As global demand for data centers, AI training models, and advanced compute capacity accelerates, nations with abundant, reliable, and sustainable energy will hold a major strategic advantage. Nepal’s hydropower potential positions us uniquely to think beyond traditional exports and toward becoming a long-term hub for digital infrastructure, clean compute, and technology-enabled growth.

The intersection of energy, AI, and infrastructure development will define the competitiveness of economies over the next decade.

We need to plug in these conversations into actions and accelerate the economic growth. Amcham is committed. Stay tuned ! Big opportunities coming up.

AmCham Nepal’s SelectUSA 2026 delegation had the distinct honor of meeting with Christopher Landau, Deputy Secretary of State.

A distinguished diplomat and former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Mr. Landau shared a forward-looking perspective on strengthening Nepal–U.S. economic ties. He emphasized that while political leadership evolves, it is consistent policy frameworks and sustained economic diplomacy that drive long-term prosperity. His heartfelt remark—“Nepal is in my heart, and I would love to visit someday”—reflected the depth of this growing relationship.

The delegation, led by AmCham Nepal Executive Director Amir Raj Thapa , extended a formal invitation to Nepal and highlighted AmCham Nepal’s expanding footprint—now representing 66 American-affiliated companies across 14 sectors. We remain sincerely grateful to the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Commerce for their continued partnership in enabling Nepal’s historic participation at SelectUSA.

In a special opening session, Hon.William Kimmitt Under Secretary of Commerce delivered keynote remarks welcoming global delegates and underscoring the United States as a premier destination for foreign direct investment—anchored in a strong policy environment, innovation, and market opportunity.

Nepal stands ready to deepen commercial engagement through policy stability, private sector leadership, and an enabling environment for enterprise. Platforms like SelectUSA reinforce the importance of building trusted partnerships and unlocking new avenues for investment and collaboration.

AmCham Nepal continues to take its commercial diplomacy forward—this time in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In partnership with Staggered Private Equity, we brought together a strong group of Nepali-origin professionals across banking, private equity, entrepreneurship, and real estate to explore one central question:

How do we meaningfully connect U.S. capital with Nepal’s growth story?

Charlotte—home to Bank of America—is not just a financial hub, but a signal of where serious capital and institutional expertise reside. The diaspora here reflects that strength.

What stood out was clear:
• Strong interest to engage with AmCham Nepal as a credible investment bridge
• Willingness from diaspora leaders to shape investment priorities
• A shared belief that Nepal is ready for deeper U.S. private sector engagement

With growing momentum from recent engagements involving S. Paul Kapur and special envoy Sergio Gore, the foundation for stronger U.S.–Nepal economic cooperation is becoming more tangible.

Now the opportunity is clear:
Move from intent to ex*****on.
From aid to trade.
From conversations to credible investments.

AmCham Nepal remains committed to working alongside both governments and the private sector to build transparent, investable pathways—unlocking mutual prosperity for Nepal and the United States.

This is just the beginning. More cities. More conversations. More action.

A special thank you to Prabudha Dahal and Reshma Tamrakar at Staggered Private Equity Fund.

AmCham Nepal continues to strengthen its role as a strategic bridge between global institutions and Nepal’s private sector.

Following our engagement at the IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., we were pleased to sit together with the IMF GCD Mission in Kathmandu. This dialogue created an important platform to align perspectives on Nepal’s evolving investment climate and policy environment.

Our members brought forward real, on-the-ground business insights—highlighting regulatory complexity, taxation challenges, and the need for greater policy consistency. These conversations are essential to shaping reforms that can unlock private sector growth.

We thank the IMF team for their continued partnership and openness to engage. This collaboration reinforces a shared commitment: creating a more predictable, transparent, and globally aligned business environment in Nepal.
AmCham Nepal remains focused on advancing policy advocacy that supports U.S. businesses, encourages innovation, and strengthens investor confidence. At this important moment in Nepal’s economic journey, our role is clear—to help align stakeholders, influence meaningful reforms, and contribute to long-term prosperity for the Nepali people.

A meaningful continuation of momentum

Following AmCham Nepal’s “Washington Door Knock” mission in Washington, D.C., we had the distinct honor of hosting Dr. S. Paul Kapur at SecurityPal—one of our proud AmCham member companies in Kathmandu.

This was more than a courtesy visit. It was a signal.
A signal that Nepal’s emerging ICT ecosystem—what we are collectively shaping as “Silicon Peaks”—is being recognized at the highest levels.

The discussions with AmCham ICT members reflected a shared interest in advancing collaboration across technology, energy, and digital infrastructure.
The message is becoming clearer:

Nepal is not only an energy story anymore. It is a serious contender in the digital infrastructure space.

From clean hydropower enabling AI and data centers, to opportunities in cybersecurity, cloud, and blockchain—the foundation exists. What is needed now is alignment, ex*****on, and urgency.

As AmCham Nepal, we remain committed to:• Bridging global partnerships with local potential• Supporting policy dialogue with constructive direction• Connecting government, private sector, and international stakeholders
We believe this is a pivotal moment that deserves focused attention from policymakers and industry leaders alike.

To our diaspora, investors, and partners—this is the time to engage.

Nepal’s next chapter will be built not just on potential, but on participation.

Thank you!

Strengthening the bridge between Nepal 🇳🇵 and the United States 🇺🇸 requires more than intent—it requires consistent dialogue, trust, and pragmatic steps forward.

AmCham Nepal, in collaboration with Everest Federal Credit Union, recently convened a Strategic Investment Briefing in Virginia, bringing together a diverse and committed Nepali diaspora community from across the U.S. This was not just an event—it was a working conversation on how diaspora capital, experience, and networks can contribute meaningfully to Nepal’s long-term economic trajectory.

The discussion focused on real issues: policy clarity, NRN frameworks, taxation concerns, and the need for a more predictable investment environment. At the same time, it acknowledged emerging opportunities, particularly in energy and technology—sectors with the potential to shape Nepal’s next phase of growth.

What stood out most was a shared understanding: diaspora engagement is not unlocked overnight. It is built gradually—through trust, transparency, and alignment between policy and practice.

Globally, diaspora communities have played transformative roles in nation-building. Nepal is no exception—but it will require sustained effort, institutional coordination, and the right enabling environment.

AmCham Nepal remains committed to playing a constructive role in this journey—facilitating dialogue, supporting policy engagement, and helping bridge perspectives between stakeholders.

This is not about creating immediate outcomes. It is about taking credible steps toward something larger.

The energy, intent, and willingness within the diaspora are clear. With the right frameworks in place, the impact can be significant.

Nepal is no longer just an energy story. It is becoming a digital infrastructure opportunity.

Over the past week in Washington, D.C., AmCham Nepal concluded its “Washington Door Knock” mission with a clear message:
Nepal can power the future of AI, data, and blockchain—with clean energy.

Our delegation engaged with the U.S. Department of State, Department of Commerce, Department of Energy, USTDA, DFC, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, World Bank and ADB.

What emerged is not just optimism—it’s alignment.

Nepal’s hydropower is no longer only about exports. It can anchor:

• AI and high-performance computing
• Sustainable data centers
• Blockchain and crypto infrastructure
• Cloud and digital services

This is our “Hydro-to-Data” moment.

There is real interest in:
– Feasibility support for digital infrastructure , Financing pathways ,A U.S.–Nepal Energy Roadshow to connect investors and projects.

But let’s be clear—this opportunity will not realize itself.

It requires:
• Policy stability
• Regulatory clarity
• Speed in decision-making
• Public-private alignment

AmCham Nepal is stepping forward to connect these dots—globally and locally. And we will work with the Government in Nepal and with the U.S. administration and be that bridge of mutual prosperity.

Now the ask:

If you are part of the Nepali diaspora, global investor community, or policy ecosystem—this is the time to engage.

Nepal has:
✔ Clean energy at scale
✔ A young, capable workforce
✔ Strategic relevance in a data-driven world

What it needs is collective conviction and ex*****on.

We are moving from aid to trade.
From potential to participation.

The question is—who joins in building this next chapter?

Please join the Wagon.

Thank you to AmCham members, our partners and all stakeholders.
