A glimpse of the Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Session conducted by one of our interns for Grade 6 and 7 students at Ksh*tiz Awasiya Secondary School, Lalitpur.

Through interactive discussions, students learned about menstrual health, healthy hygiene practices, and the importance of breaking myths and stigma, along with the distribution of Khushi Reusable Pads to support safe, sustainable, and dignified menstrual hygiene.

From carrying muddy water to turning on a tap at home. 💧

Sukmaya Gurung, a beneficiary of the Simle Ghurleswara Drinking Water Supply Scheme, once collected muddy water from a nearby stream, stored it in drums, and used it sparingly. Limited access to water made using the toilet, maintaining personal hygiene, and managing menstrual hygiene a daily challenge, while women and children remained at risk of waterborne diseases.

Today, all 27 households of the community have access to 24 hour safe drinking water through the One House, One Tap approach.

Bringing Safe Water Closer to Communities

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving access to clean and safe drinking water, we have successfully distributed and implemented 190+ DROP Filters across 8 water schemes in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.

This initiative marks our transition from centralized chlorination systems to point-of-use DROP Filters, providing households with a simple, effective, and sustainable way to treat drinking water at home. By ensuring safe water at the point of use, these filters help reduce the risk of waterborne diseases and promote healthier communities.

Every filter installed is a step toward a future where every family has reliable access to safe drinking water. Together, we continue creating lasting impact through sustainable WASH solutions and community-centered approaches.

A glimpse of the progress we’ve made near the end of this fiscal year.

A time to reflect on the progress, partnerships, and impact we have achieved together. From strengthening WASH services to supporting communities through meaningful initiatives, every step has contributed to positive change.

Following the WWN Road Run 2026 event, the momentum for menstrual health awareness has continued to grow across rural communities. Through awareness sessions, school engagements, community discussions, and collaboration with local health facilities, we have reached 1,090+ women and girls across 16 communities, 3 schools, and 1 Health Care Facility in Sahid Lakhan, Kailash, Raksirang, Ichchhakamana, and Jwalamukhi Rural Municipalities.

To promote safe, sustainable, and dignified menstrual hygiene practices, 4,100+ menstrual pads have been introduced and distributed within communities, encouraging the adoption of reusable menstrual products and increasing access to menstrual health information.

This impact has been made possible through the collective efforts of our WASH organizations, partners, supporters, volunteers, and everyone who contributed through WWN Road Run 2026. Your support has helped bring menstrual health education, awareness, and sustainable menstrual products closer to the women and girls who need them most.
