During our recent field visit to Bajhang and Bajura, our team conducted PMT (Proxy Means Test) form filling with students and their families, collecting detailed socio-economic information to understand their living conditions in a structured and fair manner. Through this process, we were able to gather important data related to each household, including family structure, parental occupation, housing condition, access to basic facilities, and overall educational environment of the students. After completing the fieldwork, all collected PMT forms have been safely brought back for further processing, and we have now entered the next important phase of our work, which is systematic data entry and evaluation. All information from the forms is being carefully recorded into a structured database, ensuring that each detail is accurately captured as per the PMT indicators. Once the data entry is completed, a standardized PMT scoring system will be applied where each student’s household data is converted into a numerical score based on key socio-economic factors such as income proxy, housing condition, number of dependents, parental occupation, and access to basic services. After scoring, all students will be ranked and divided into quantiles according to their overall score, where Quantile 1 represents the most economically vulnerable group. Based on this classification, students falling under the lowest quantile will be primarily considered for sponsorship support, ensuring that assistance reaches those who are in the greatest need. Before final selection, the data and results will undergo internal review to maintain fairness, transparency, and accuracy in the process. Once finalized, student profiles will be prepared for sponsorship matching, and a detailed report will be documented to ensure accountability and proper impact tracking. Through this PMT-based approach, our organization aims to ensure a fair, structured, and data-driven selection system so that support is directed to the most deserving students, helping them continue their education with dignity and equal opportunity.
