Last Thursday, our 4th Class girls joined pupils from St Patrick's BNS and Clooncagh Primary School for a special climb of Sliabh Bán as part of our Creative Clusters project, Echoes of Sliabh Bán.
Despite the inclement weather, everyone enjoyed a wonderful day. At the summit, the children gathered to sing and perform Sliabh Bán, a beautiful song developed with the assistance of Áine Burke and Brian Duke. We celebrated our achievement with some well-earned s'mores!
A special thank you to our Creative Clusters facilitator, Colm Harte, who joined us for the celebration and was hugely impressed by the children's enthusiasm and the fantastic work completed by all the schools throughout the project.
We missed our friends from Kiltrustan NS, who were unable to attend due to road blockages, and we look forward to meeting up with them again soon.
Well done to all involved on a memorable day.

Over the past year, our 4th Class girls have been exploring the theme of Emigration and Immigration through our Creative Clusters project, Echoes of Sliabh Bán. Working alongside Heritage in Schools specialists, the girls researched local stories, reflected on journeys of the past and present, and expressed their learning through art, music and creativity.
We are delighted to unveil this beautiful mural, which brings together the many strands of work completed throughout the year. The mural reflects the girls’ imagination, learning and collaboration, while celebrating the stories and heritage that inspired the project.
A huge thank you to Anne Beirne, our talented local artist, whose creativity, guidance and skill helped the girls transform their ideas into this wonderful artwork. Their enthusiasm and hard work are evident in every brushstroke!
This mural is very much a living project, and we look forward to adding to it and developing it further next year.
Well done to all the girls involved – you should be very proud of what you have achieved.
