Rearcross Tidy Towns

Rearcross Tidy Towns Voluntary Group to help maintain the village of Rearcross and promote the surroundings!

Tidy Towns is an annual competition, first held in 1958, organised by the Irish Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government in order to honour the tidiest and most attractive cities, towns and villages in Ireland. The competition is organised on a national basis, and entrants must complete modules including Overall Developmental Approach (5 Year Plan), The Built Environment, Land

scaping, Wildlife & Natural Amenities, Litter Control, Tidiness, Waste Minimisation, Residential Areas, Roads and Streets & Back Areas. The Competition is judged during the summer months (May to August) by an independent adjudicator, who issues each town with a written report complimenting positive development and actions and providing positive suggestions on how the community can improve their general surroundings.

Two years have nearly passed since we had a Frist Defibrillator training in the community Hall in Rearcross as everyone that did it last time will see our certs need to be updated so on Friday the 25 th of September we will have our training again from 7 to 8.30 . anyone who would like to avail of a cert there is a charge of 5 euro this time anyone that didn't do it last time are welcome to come along we will have a donation bucket at the door on the night we would love see as many as possible attend so please come along tea and chat after.if interested please comment below or you can contact Bridget on 0871276780 for more information community council

New signs have been installed in the Park as unfortunately during the summer months our little sensory area was damaged,

Our sensory texture boards were continuously being repaired only to be damaged again, toys were broken, damaged and some deliberately thrown out over the walls of the park, we managed to get some back but we are missing still quite a few,

We wanted to add a lot more into the area along with sensory plants but now unfortunately we will have to decide in the next few months whether it will be worth investing more money, time and effort into it or just remove it completely,

We ask all the parents of the children using the playarea to please speak to your children, if they don't want to play with the toys in the park that's OK but can they not damage, break or deliberately throw them over walls so that other children can't play with them.

📢Save the date!!....there will be a variety concert in Rearcross Hall on Sept 12th in aid of Special Olympics Ireland (Nenagh Branch). Further details to follow! Your support would be greatly appreciated 👍

New Sensory area is up and running,
Thanks to Rearcross Residents Committee for all their hard work in getting it done.
Pupils from Rearcross National School all came today to place their handprints on the tree.

This area is for all to enjoy but we would ask all children to be respectful and look after all the toys.
