The IntNSA mission statement is: 'To advance excellence in nursing care for the prevention and treatment of addictions for diverse populations across all practice settings through advocacy, collaboration, education, research and policy development.'

he Irish organization shall be known as the Ireland Chapter of the International Nurses Society on Addictions. The purpose of the Chapter shall be to support the mission and vision of IntNSA and promote quality-nursing care for those affected by high risk substance misuse. It will serve as a meeting ground for nurses that are interested in the problem of addiction in order that they may enhance their knowledge, advance their skills, and continue their education. We welcome the opportunity to work with other organisations and individuals who share our objectives. Active membership shall be open to registered professional nurses who are concerned with or engaged in the practice of addictions nursing. Active members may vote and hold office in the Ireland Chapter. Associated membership shall be open to persons other than registered professional nurses who are concerned with or engaged in the practice of managing high risk substance misuse. Associate members may not vote or hold elective office. The Ireland Chapter of IntNSA welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the wider debate on drugs policy and also to contribute to innovation and best practice in substance misuse treatment services.
