Creggs Rural Development hosted a very successful tour to Avondale, County Wicklow on Saturday. Avondale is the birthplace of Charles Stewart Parnell and the event was held to mark the 80th anniversary of the unveiling of the Parnell Monument in the village, which took place in 1946 on the centenary of Parnell’s birth. Guests enjoyed a tour of the house and the surrounding forest tree top walks. Thanks to all who came along and to Galway County Council, which provided funding towards the heritage event.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the crafting demo in aid of Samaritans in the Heritage Centre today. We learned about needle felting, how to make kefir and how to crochet roses. Thanks to Catou for organising the event and all who supported this worthy cause.
