🎶 Everything Is Connected – A Truly Inspiring Weekend of Music!

Galway City Partnership was delighted to collaborate last weekend with Music for Galway, Crash Ensemble and acclaimed composer Ed Bennett on 'Everything Is Connected'. Two fabulous performances in St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, Galway, and Sullivan’s Royal Hotel, Gort, brought together professional musicians and community singing groups from Ballinfoile, Ballybane and Westside, alongside the beautiful Ukrainian choir Harmony and Voices in Unity from Gort.

A truly inspiring weekend that filled us all with hope and reminded us of the incredible power of music to connect people, communities and cultures, and of our shared connection with nature.

A special thank you to Ed Bennett, whose wonderful composition brought us all together, and to Music for Galway, Crash Ensemble and everyone involved in making this such a memorable experience. Sincere thanks also to Healthy Ireland Galway and GRETB for their ongoing support of our community singing groups.

Youth in Ballinfoile were immersed in a project 'The Mummers of Terryland Forest Park' during the past few months. Biodiversity and Mythology came to life through creativity and collaboration.

The young people got inspiration from Terrlyland Forest Park to create their own Caillech sculpture and share stories about mythology and nature with parents and guardians . Cailleach is coming to life now thanks to them!

Our project was supported by Creative Communities and was great fun!

Thank you very much to Stephen Doyle from Creative Ireland, Gerry McDonald from Ballinfoile Mór Community Garden, Brendan Smith from Tuatha of Terryland Forest Park and a special thank you to local artist Carina Berger for her delivery of the workshops.

The Migrant Service will be running its Monday 2nd immigration interactive information workshop/training on November 2, 2026, from 12-2 pm in the GCP board room.

🌱 Growing Communities Together – Let's Get Galway Growing! 🌿💚

What a fantastic afternoon at the Volunteer Fair last Sunday at the Salthill Hotel!
From 2–5 pm, the Let's Get Galway Growing (LGGG) network was delighted to host a stall, meet so many wonderful people and share the fantastic work happening across Galway City's community gardens.
We were thrilled by the level of interest in volunteering with our community gardens! 🌻
It was truly inspiring to see so many people eager to give their time, share their skills and support different organisations and community initiatives across Galway.
At Let's Get Galway Growing, we believe that community gardens are about much more than growing plants – they're about growing connections, friendships and stronger communities. 🌍💚
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, had a chat and expressed an interest in getting involved!

🎨🌿 Creativity, Nature & New Experiences with Baboró! 🎭✨
Over the past few months, our young people attending the Ballinfoile Youth Activity Project (BYAP) have had some fantastic opportunities to explore their creativity, connect with nature, and experience the arts through our partnership with Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.
From engaging in nature and art workshops to exploring the beauty of Connemara National Park, our young people have enjoyed opportunities to learn, discover, and try new things.

We also had the pleasure of attending two theatre trips as part of the Baboró International Arts Festival, giving our young people the chance to experience live theatre, explore their imaginations and engage with the arts in a fun and accessible way. 🎭💚

A huge thank you to Anna and Lindsey from Baboró for organising and providing such wonderful experiences for our young people over the last few months.

We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and look forward to more opportunities for our young people to explore, create and connect with the world around them! 💚

Galway City Partnership is delighted to be part of this exciting collaboration with Music For Galway and Crash Ensemble, bringing professional musicians and local communities together for a truly special musical experience.

As part of Music for Galway’s Breaking Boundaries season, acclaimed Irish composer Ed Bennett’s Everything Is Connected celebrates the power of music to bring people together.

👏 We are especially proud that our community singing groups from Ballinfoile, Ballybane, Westside and a Ukranian Singing Group called Harmony supported by Galway City Partnership and funded by Galway and Roscommon ETB and Healthy Ireland, will be performing alongside Voices in Unity ‘One Town One Voice’ and the internationally acclaimed Crash Ensemble.

This is a fantastic celebration of community spirit, inclusion, creativity and the wonderful connections that can be made through music! 💚

Our Cross Cultural Creativity Network took part in a practical upcycling course funded by GRETB through the Community Education Grant. Across the sessions, participants learned creative techniques for reusing everyday and unwanted materials, developing practical skills while exploring more sustainable approaches to making and consumption.

The course also provided an opportunity for participants from different cultural backgrounds to work alongside one another, exchange ideas and share creative knowledge. The hands-on nature of the programme encouraged experimentation and collaboration, with participants creating new items from materials that might otherwise have been discarded.

The course combined community education, creativity and environmental awareness in an engaging learning environment.

A recent 'Street Photography and Story' project brought creativity, photography and storytelling together in a series of community sessions for Voices and Visions community group.

Funded by GRETB through the Community Education Grant, the project supported participants to explore their surroundings, capture meaningful moments and share the stories behind their photographs.

Participants developed their photography skills while reflecting on their experiences of Galway and the communities around them. The project provided a space for people from different backgrounds to express themselves creatively, build confidence and connect with others. Through the photographs and stories created, participants offered personal perspectives on everyday life, community and belonging.
