Thanks to a couple of very generous donations including €1000 from an anonymous donor and €3000 from Aerogen we’ve reached our goal!!! In total over €10,000 has been raised and our team are beyond grateful for this wonderful achievement! A big thank you is in order for everyone who has shown support!

The students have arrived safely in Galway and are currently attending classes here in the University!

We did it! 🎉

Thanks to the generous donation of clothes from all our friends in Galway and from Public Romance Vintage the support of the University of Galway in lending us their venue, and the incredible community that came out to shop, our pre-loved clothes sale fundraising event was a success! 🙌🏼💚

We couldn't have done it without you, and we're so grateful for the way everyone came together to support the cause. Not only did we raise money to help a refugee student, but we also helped to promote sustainable fashion and reduce waste ♻️

We hope this is just the beginning of more impactful initiatives to come, so give us a follow and keep an eye out for more events to come✨

Hi there and welcome!
Galway is the adoptive home to many students. We are a group of students, university staff and civil society members who are working towards welcoming the newest member of this community, a refugee student.
What we have achieved so far:
• Ensured free enrolment in a Taught Postgraduate Masters in the College of Science and Engineering
• Secured over EUR 3,000 in additional funding
And we just got started!
Our goals:
• Raising EUR 15.000 ahead of the 2023/24 academic year going towards accommodation and living expenses
• Removing any barriers preventing the student’s ability to pursue their goals and seize any new opportunities coming their way
🤝Groups like ours are all over Ireland and their success hinges on communities coming together and helping each other. 🤝
