Who is getting excited to get the LMA shows kicked off this year!? We certainly are!! 😂

Come and see the WORLD FAMOUS REDS DUO of Father/ son team Steve & Matt Bishop, who always put on a stunning formation display to music, with their large red arrow hawks.

The same as we did for our Sleap show, we are now giving away x2 FREE adult tickets to our ELVINGTON airshow, on 8/9th August. Children under 16 go FREE anyway, so would be a great day out for all the family or for you to bring a friend along!

You will see a fantastic model air display with a whole range of aircraft (including the current worlds largest flying vulcan & many more), over 50 classic vehicles, Huge inflatable assault course, vintage funfair rides, CycleKart racing, RC Tanks, Minature steam train rides, WW2 Display, over 30 traders, Swapmeet, Food/drink stalls, Bar, Evening entertainment and more! ✈️

Whilst we currently concentrate on Sleap, our ELVINGTON LARGE MODEL AIRSHOW & FAMILY FUN WEEKEND is not far behind at just over 8 weeks away! 😬

For something completely different, we are looking forward to seeing CycleKarts GB in action, as they bring a host of Pre WW2 style racing cars. Homemade at 3/4 scale they will be demonstrating and driving them around a track onsite for visitors to watch & interact with.

Not only is this a fantastic airshow to experience, but a general family fun weekend, with so much to see and do for all ages! 🙌🏻

FULL-SIZE DISPLAYS!

As mentioned before, our Sleap show will consist of a 90min break in model flying over the lunch period, to allow some full size movements from the airfield as well as including a 30min air display from Shropshire Aero Club! Also allowing our pilots to grab some lunch and watch it themselves 😉

We are happy to announce the x3 aircraft involved in the display are… a Yak-3, a Steen Skybolt and an Aviat Husky! 🙌🏻 These aircraft will display both on the Saturday & Sunday of the show.

However note as always, aircraft are subject to change with servicability and weather conditions on the day.

We quite simply don’t know where to start with showing what models are attending, as we already have a list of over 100 fantastic models booked in! 😱

Always a popular draw for many and guaranteed presence will be a range of WW2 Fighters & Multi-engine aircraft! The LMA pilots certainly have no shortage of these, from giant scale Lancasters & B-17’s.. to Spitfires, Mustangs, P-47’s and more.. see them all in action over our show weekend 4/5th July at Shropshire Aero Club!

On the 4th & 5th of July we host the Large Model Association Airshow here at Sleap Airfield. Some of the world’s biggest models, including the largest Vulcan flying, the Red Arrows and much more all take part in an all day airshow! These models are almost the same size as some of our training aircraft!

As well as the model show, between 12-1 we are hosting a full size air display with warbirds, aerobatics and some crazy flying! There are also lots of traders, amazing food options & music.

Anyone is welcome, camping is available with late night bar and live music too. Sleap Members can attend for free and you can fly in too!

Come and see the current WORLD’s LARGEST VULCAN flying at both our Sleap & Elvington airshows! 😱

Just 4 weeks to go until our Sleap airshow at Sleap Airfield/ Shropshire Aero Club, Shrewsbury! And we are excited to share that Steve Kilbon is planning (as it is always subject to change) to bring along his huge 16.5foot span Avro Vulcan!! 🙌🏻

Built & painted by Rich Hull, when in the air, you could be forgiven in thinking this is the real deal!

The model is an Avro Vulcan in xm607 livery, which was the aircraft that bombed the runway at port Stanley during the falklands conflict. The full size has recently undergone a restoration and is RAF Waddington’s gate guard. The restoration team of the full size even supplied Steve/ Rich with plans and decal locations from their blueprints!

It is an enlarged Tony nijhuis kit, at 16.5ft wingspan, weighing a whopping 89kgs! Powered along by x2 jet Italia 220 turbines, it carries 8 litres of fuel on board. It has working air brakes, bomb bay doors and a custom made scale electric undercarriage.

For electronics, it has an AR Smoothflite 16 with Frsky radio, 8 savox TG HV servos for surfaces and has 8 lipo batteries on board.

Steve is a member of team FCB Aviation and we are looking forward to seeing Steve fly this giant alongside many other amazing aircraft (both real aircraft & models) at our 2026 Sleap & Elvington shows! 🎉🙏🏻
