Do you have a 6 to 8 year old who loves to try new things, make friends, play games and wants to learn new skills, all whilst earning badges? Well our 1st Moss Scout Group have opened a Beaver colony on Mondays that does all this and more!
Sign up today at:- https://www.scouts.org.uk/groups/10016428?loc=Wrexham&page=2&slug=1st-Moss

Something exciting is happening at 1st Moss!

We’re thrilled to announce the re-launch of our Beaver Colony!

Our first session was full of smiles, giggles and new friendships. To break the ice, we played Froggy Feet! There was lots of hopping, laughing and silliness, and it was a brilliant way for everyone to get to know each other and feel at home. Our new Beavers jumped straight in, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they got on.

A huge thank you to our leaders and volunteers for all their hard work getting the colony up and running. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait for all the adventures, games, badges and memories ahead.

Is your child is 6-8 years old and wants to join in the fun, why not get in touch and find out how they can join the fun!

🌍📻 JOTA-JOTI Weekend – Connecting Scouts Across the World!

What a fantastic weekend of Scouting, teamwork and international friendship!

Scouts and Explorers from Atlas ESU , Bishop’s Own, 1st Esclusham Scout Group - Rhostyllen , 1st Overton-on-Dee Scout Group and 1st Rhosnesni Scouts Hut came together for an exciting JOTA-JOTI (Jamboree on the Air – Jamboree on the Internet) weekend. Helped out by the wonderful team at Mold Military Radio Operators Group New

With an internet café set up in the hall and radio equipment ready to go, everyone had the opportunity to connect with fellow Scouts from around the globe, and discover more about Scouting in other countries. This experience also helped the young people involved discover how large our Scouting family is across the world!

The weekend was a brilliant example of Scouting at its best, with cooperation, enthusiasm and great teamwork between all the groups involved.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise, support and make the weekend such a success! Memories made, friendships formed and the true spirit of Scouting shining through!

🌍📻 JOTA / JOTI 2026 – Connecting Scouts Around the World! 💻🌎

On Saturday 17th October, our Scouts will be taking part in JOTA / JOTI at Bishop’s Own Scout Hut! 🏕️

We’ll be connecting with Scouts from across the country and, hopefully, around the world 🌍 through the magic of radio waves and the internet! 📡💻

JOTA / JOTI is a fantastic opportunity for our Scouts to make new friends, share experiences, learn about different cultures and discover just how connected the worldwide Scouting family really is! ⚜️🤝

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled day of communication, adventure and international Scouting! 🚀

World Mental Health Day – 10 October

Mental health affects us all, and nobody should feel they have to face things alone.

Did you know?

- Adults: Around 1 in 4 adults experience a mental health problem each year.
- Children and young people: Around 1 in 5 children and young people aged 8–25 in England have a probable mental health problem.

At Wrexham District Scouts, we support this year's message:

“Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.”

One small thing we can all do: Take time to listen to someone without judging or rushing to offer solutions. Sometimes, simply feeling heard can make a real difference.

Let's help create a world where every voice matters and everyone feels supported.
