If you were at Wrecsam Ffair on Saturday, you might have caught Guitar Olly Pearson doing what he does best.

Olly brought his guitar and his talent to the Ffair, delivering a set of performances that gave us plenty to capture. We've put together a few clips to give you a taste of what those watching in person enjoyed.

A Wrexham performer, a guitar, a crowd and live music right in the heart of the community. That's what a Ffair should sound like!

**WRECSAM FFAIR 2026 – THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS 🎬🎶**

Three days. Lots of different people. Music, creativity, workshops, conversations, community and plenty going on across Wrexham.

Wrecsam Ffair brought together people and groups with different interests, backgrounds and ideas, all helping to make something happen in our community.

We didn't manage to capture everything on camera – but here's a little glimpse of the sights and sounds of the Ffair, and a reminder of what can happen when we create spaces for people to come together.

For us, this is what **Belonging in Our Community** is about. Not expecting everyone to be the same, or to agree about everything, but making room for people to meet, share, create and enjoy being part of the same community.

**We have more in common than we think.**

**HOW TO TALK ABOUT RACISM – WREXHAM, 24 NOVEMBER**

How do we talk about racism constructively? How do we challenge prejudice without simply entrenching divisions? And how can we help create communities where people from different backgrounds feel welcome, safe and able to belong?

These are important questions for Wrexham, and they sit at the heart of TCC’s **Belonging in Our Community** campaign.

We know that building stronger communities takes more than simply saying that racism is wrong. It also means being willing to listen, having difficult conversations, challenging misinformation and finding constructive ways to respond when prejudice affects the people around us.

That's why we're sharing this invitation from **Show Racism the Red Card**, whose *How to Talk About…* roadshow is coming to Wrexham.

The morning will include an expert panel discussion, interactive workshops, practical guidance and opportunities to connect with others working to challenge racism and support positive change.

Whether you work with young people, support local communities, volunteer, teach, work in public services or simply want to feel more confident having these conversations, this event offers an opportunity to learn and share experiences.

At TCC, we believe that belonging is something we build together. That means recognising the dignity of others, listening to experiences different from our own and not allowing the loudest voices to define who belongs in our community.

**WRECSAM FFAIR – CLIMATE CYMRU 🌱**

Some of the conversations at Wrecsam Ffair were about music, creativity, food and belonging.

Some were about something a little bigger: **the kind of future we want to live in.**

Climate Cymru was a major partner in Wrecsam Ffair, bringing a programme of films and conversations exploring climate change, community action, nature and the different reasons people choose to get involved.

Their film programme included:

🎥 **The Street Stall / Y Stondin Ystryd** – how a simple street stall in Cardigan can start conversations about climate change.

🎥 **Hannah and Extinction Rebellion** – Hannah Schafer explaining why she chose to stand up for the climate.

🎥 **Cardigan XR Aberteifi – Why Protest?** – exploring one person's reasons for speaking out during the climate crisis.

🎥 **Brynberian Community Garden / Gardd Cymunedol Brynberian – Pollinator Party / Parti Peillwyr** – a celebration of pollinator-friendly plants, growers and community.

The films offered very different perspectives, but they had something important in common: **people telling their own stories about why these issues matter to them.**

That fits particularly well with Climate Cymru's wider approach. Its Imagine Action project focuses on storytelling, creativity and finding points of connection when conversations about climate and social issues can easily become divided or confrontational.

And that is part of what Wrecsam Ffair was about too.

Not everyone comes to a community event for the same reason. But give people a space to meet, listen, create and talk – and sometimes you discover that we have rather more in common than we thought.

WRECSAM FFAIR – WREXHAM SEWING STUDIO CIC 🧵

Some of the biggest contributions to Wrecsam Ffair weren't necessarily the ones happening on the main stage.

Throughout all three days, Wrexham Sewing Studio CIC opened its doors and provided a welcoming community space alongside a programme of hands-on activities.

Across the weekend, people could get involved in:

🧵 Community bunting making
✂️ Zip making and creative activities
🎨 Colouring and craft activities
🎟️ Badge making
🪡 Learn to Sew sessions
♻️ Upcycling activities
🥚 A children's Studio Egg Hunt
🧠 And a quiz night

The Studio was also one of the venues that helped make the Ffair genuinely spread through the community, rather than everything happening in one place.

That's very much in keeping with what Wrexham Sewing Studio is about: using creativity, practical skills and a welcoming space to help people connect, learn and belong. The Studio describes its work as combining creativity, community and compassion, with sewing, repair, upcycling and textile crafts at its heart.

We may not have taken enough photographs to show just how much they contributed – but we certainly shouldn't let that mean their contribution goes unnoticed.

**WRECSAM FFAIR – DR BIKES TO THE RESCUE! 🚲**

Saturday at Wrecsam Ffair wasn't just about music, food, creativity and community.

Drosi Bikes brought their **Dr Bike** service along for the day, offering bike safety checks, general maintenance, puncture repairs and basic emergency repairs for anyone who needed a bit of help keeping their bike on the road.

It's a practical contribution, but it also fits neatly with what Drosi Bikes are about: making cycling more accessible, encouraging sustainable transport and giving bikes – and their parts – a second life rather than sending them to landfill.

WRECSAM FFAIR: WE MAY HAVE DISCOVERED WREXHAM'S UNOFFICIAL MUSICAL AMBASSADOR

Some people came to Wrecsam Ffair to take part.

Some came to perform.

Some came to run workshops.

And then there was Natasha Borton, who apparently decided that wasn't quite enough.

Natasha joined us for the Creative Writing Workshop and Spoken Word event, through her links with Voicebox and Llangollen Spoken Word.

She also brought her other head along.

Natasha has a second life – working for the National Library of Wales.

So, in that capacity, she also hosted the National Library of Wales craft activities and short archival films at Hope Cafe.

And somewhere in amongst all of this, she was spotted wearing a T-shirt declaring:

WREXHAM UNDERDOG.

At this point, we started to wonder whether Natasha might actually be quite fond of Wrexham.

Then we found something.

A song.

“Hometown” – written and sung by Natasha Borton.

And frankly, it rather gives the game away.

It's a love letter to Wrexham – St Giles, Pontcysyllte, the Miner's Statue, Bank Street, Henblas Square, the football club, the streets, the people and the slightly odd bits of local history that make Wrexham… well, Wrexham.

And at its heart is a simple message:

We only get one hometown. This one is ours.

Which, rather conveniently, fits our Belonging in Our Community campaign rather well.

So we've decided that Natasha can keep the Wrexham Underdog T-shirt.

WRECSAM FFAIR – BELONGING THROUGH FOOD, CULTURE AND COMMUNITY

One of the things we particularly wanted to capture at Wrecsam Ffair was the contribution of St Mary’s Cathedral, whose successful proposal helped shape TCC’s Belonging in Our Community campaign.

St Mary’s congregation reflects the diversity of Wrexham, with strong connections to communities including Wrexham Africa Community C.I.C., Wrexham Filipino Society and Wrexham’s Indian community.

For St Mary’s, bringing people together is often something wonderfully simple: sharing food.

At Wrecsam Ffair, that meant food being prepared, shared and offered freely – creating opportunities for people to stop, talk, meet one another and share something of their culture.

These photographs capture just a few moments from the day: members of the Filipino community together, one of the African Sisters, and perhaps most importantly, someone simply offering food to whoever wanted to share it.

There is something powerful in that simplicity.

Belonging doesn't always begin with a big conversation or a formal activity. Sometimes it begins with “come and have something to eat.”

Different cultures. Different traditions. Different foods. One community.

And that is exactly what Belonging in Our Community is about.

We have more in common than we think.
