At Nightingale House Hospice we provide free, specialist care and support to people in our community living with progressive, life-limiting and progressive illnesses. For over 30 years, our care has helped patients live life to the fullest despite their diagnosis. Our services are free of charge, ensuring that those who need us receive the support they deserve, thanks to the generosity of our comm

unity and fundraising efforts. Our modern facilities include:
12 en-suite inpatient rooms, including for respite patients. A modern outpatient services facility offering:
Wellbeing Programme
Rehabilitation support
Symptom management and stabilisation
Complementary therapies
Fatigue, anxiety, and breathlessness management
Music therapy
Bathing services
Adult and child bereavement support*
*We are one of the few providers of bereavement support for children, even if their loved one wasn’t cared for at Nightingale House Hospice. We can support people with illnesses like:

Neurological palliative conditions
Heart Failure
Respiratory – severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD – includes pulmonary fibrosis), bronchiectasis
End-stage renal (kidney) disease, end-stage liver failure
Terminal cancer

If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, we are here to help. Speak to a medical professional like your GP or District Nurse, who can assess your needs and refer you to us. Self refer - You or a loved one can reach out to us to request a self referral by calling the Patient Flow Team on 01978 316806 or emailing [email protected]

“We’re taking part in the Nightingale £50 Challenge to support the incredible work the hospice does for local families and to help make a real difference.”

Rostons UK have recently joined the £50 challenge, now we’d love your business to get involved too!

The idea is simple: your business starts with £50 and uses creativity and teamwork to grow it into as much as possible. Whether that’s a bake sale, sweepstake, dress-down day, or even launching something completely unique, the possibilities are endless.

🎤 Taylor Swift Tribute (Holly Bills) – Phenomenal replica costumes and amazing choreography.
💃 TikTok Dance & Stilt Walkers (Dc² Ents and Dance Company) – Fun, vibrant performances you won’t forget!
🎪 Circus Skills Workshop ( Short Scruffs Theatre Co.) – Juggling, Diablo, spinning plates…there’s so many different skills for children to learn and have a go at.
🏙 Dinky Discoveries – For little people with BIG imaginations! A playful pop-up role-play experience packed with creativity, and interactive fun for children aged 1-6.
🎉Party Peeps - Children's Party Entertainment – Expect non-stop games, dancing, challenges with lots of prizes and giveaways. Plus massive tunes and silliness, live on stage.
🎨 Arts & Crafts – Choose to make bat, dragon, or fairy wings, and craft a crown to match. A fun, creative workshop where children will leave with magical handmade pieces ready for the festival.

Jackie’s work touches so many lives, alongside the rest of the Family Support Team, who offer compassionate care, guidance, and a safe, supportive space to help you through difficult times. 🩵

Jackie shares:

“It’s completely normal to feel a bit scared during tough times. Our team is here to support both patients and their families as they navigate these challenging circumstances. There are many ways to reach out to our family support services, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
