Men tell us that EPiC MEN helps them do both. Our six-question structure helps open up conversations about what’s weighing on them, with support from other men and space to see a way forward.

Tonight, we open our FIFTH group in Hindley, alongside our groups in Scholes, Ashton, Abram and Ince. Five doors open across Wigan. Yours is one of them.

First Blog for a few weeks, lots going on across our work in Platt Bridge, Hindley plus our borough wide support via programme.

On Monday, we caught up with Jessica Rose from The Girls Club Always great to catch up and discuss some future partnership working.

Our CEO David, then had a meeting with reps from Power to Change as part of David's role in Chairing the National Economy taskforce for the We're Right Here: the campaign for community power and feedback from meeting one. The taskforce aims to put together plans for a 2040 vision for community led high streets and neighbourhoods.

Later that day, our Trustees meeting took place, before David attended the latest Platt Bridge Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board meeting. Lots of plans coming up for community engagement as we aim to allow local people a voice on the future of Platt Bridge, Spring View and Bamfurlong.

On Tuesday, we collected the Body. Brain. Belief CIC Box of Hope from CraftHive Cic and took to Tudor House.
It was great to have The Cross Community Network at the building, and look forward to their sessions that will be supporting local residents in Hindley.
We then met with a gentleman named Roy who was referred to us for support via Daffodils Dreams Roy has a great initiative and another needed service could be coming into the Borough soon.
A busy day closed with us meeting Liz from Inside Academy over at Leigh Spinners. Inside Academy were the first investees on the Proper Good programme and their work in supporting people in Prison's had achieved so much.

Wednesday was a needed admin day, updating too our new website as below.

On Thursday, David caught up with Phil Paramore, as we talked about evaluation plans for the Proper Good programme.
Plus continued plans for Platt Bridge Community Zone and Tudor House.

On Friday, we attended the Wigan Borough Community First The Big Meet at Leigh Sports Village. Always good to see friends there hear about future plans for the sector. Great to see Craft Hive CIC MissPlaces CIC Fur Clemt Grace D**e Lisa Jane Davies Melissa Taylor - Community Health Building

Last month, we had the pleasure of inviting Ruth Liptrot to the Magicalogical Ltd. Podcast space for a chat about all things Culture, Community and Makerfield alongside Alan from Pianos Pies and Pirouettes CIC

The full podcast is now available below, via our website (along with all our podcasts recorded so far).

Ruth, a school friend of David's, discussed her journey to where she currently is, a presenter on Channel 5 news.

One story that stood out among many great stories, was of Ruth's current Community of Hanwell in London and how they come together hosting events and a hyper local version of community wealth building.

Very inspiring, and one we would love to see adopted in Platt Bridge area and Hindley.
