Today, we welcomed Lucky Lockey to our venue for a fantastic singing session! Our customers loved singing along, having a little chair dance and, of course, having a right good laugh watching our staff show off their dance moves! 🤣🕺

🎡🐠 A wonderful day out in Blackpool! 🌊✨

On Wednesday, our customers enjoyed a fantastic trip to Blackpool! We started the day at Blackpool Tower Circus, enjoying all the amazing acts, before heading off for a little shopping to pick up some gifts. 🛍️

We then stopped at Bispham Kitchen for some delicious fish and chips before finishing our day with a lovely drive through the famous Blackpool Illuminations! 💡🌟

💜 Dementia Drop-In Sessions at Belong Wigan 💜

Looking for a friendly, welcoming space to meet others, share experiences and enjoy some time together?

Hosted by an Admiral Nurse, our dementia drop-in sessions offer a relaxed and supportive environment for people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.

Come along for a cuppa, a friendly chat and the chance to enjoy a variety of activities. 🎶🎨☕

Sometimes we’re asked, “What if my loved one doesn’t want to join in with the main activities happening in the village?”

Well, meaningful engagement is happening in our households every day. ❤️

It could be a manicure, fixing things on our busy board, helping to sort our medicine syringes, folding towels, cleaning, setting the table or simply having a chat over a cup of tea.

We take the time to get to know each resident — what they enjoy, what they used to do for a job, what they were like at home and the things that have always been important to them.

Because meaningful engagement doesn’t have to be a big organised activity. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that bring the biggest smiles. 🥰

It’s about creating opportunities that are personal, purposeful and meaningful to each individual, every single day. ❤️

On Monday afternoon, we welcomed the children for their weekly visit. Our customers loved solving puzzles together, having a chat and enjoying each other’s company. 🧩💬😊

🇧🇬✨ **A Taste of Bulgaria at Belong Wigan!** ✨🇧🇬

Last week, our customers enjoyed a wonderful **Bulgarian Night**, hosted by Nelko and our fantastic Bistro team! ❤️

Nelko cooked and shared delicious food from his homeland, giving everyone the chance to experience a little taste of Bulgaria. Our customers absolutely loved trying the food and learning more about the traditions behind it. 🇧🇬🍴

One of the special traditions we shared was **bread, honey and salt**, which is a traditional Bulgarian welcome. Guests take a piece of bread, dip it into the honey and salt, and are wished a **sweet life**. 🍯🍞

But there is a special meaning behind the salt too – it reminds us that **life isn't always sweet**, and that we experience both good and difficult times along the way.

It was a lovely evening filled with great food, culture, conversation and plenty of smiles. A huge thank you to Nelko and our Bistro team for sharing such a special part of Bulgarian culture with us! ❤️🇧🇬

🥇 1st Place – Sue Hamilton
Sue always goes the extra mile when the rugby is on, setting up the venue for everyone to come together and enjoy the match. From organising the space to bringing popcorn and chocolate treats for everyone, Sue helps create a fantastic atmosphere where everyone can feel part of the excitement! 🏉🍿

🥈 2nd Place – Sarah Roscoe & Nicola Davies
Thank you both for giving up your own time to decorate a venue with a beautiful balloon arch and decorations to make someone’s 100th birthday extra special. Your time, thought and effort helped create a wonderful celebration and a memory to treasure. 🎈🎂

🥉 3rd Place – Katie Holbrook
After completing her morning shift and going home, Katie heard that the team were short by one person to cover medication duties that evening. Without hesitation, she came back in to help support the team. Thank you, Katie, for showing such commitment and teamwork when it was needed most! 💪💙
