Incredibly sad news: Sir Patrick Stewart dies after living with Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer’s.

We send our love to his family at this very sad time and remember all the joy he gave to so many over the years. 💙

Thank you to Naomi Brigg from Keynsham Hockey Club who is playing this season with the Lewy Body Society logo on her kit and training tshirts to raise awareness of the disease.

She has also donated in her father, Michael's name. She said: "It truly gives me a boost in my step to play the rest of the season in dedication to my dad."

Alice Bryan, Keynsham Hockey Club sponsorship officer, said: "Naomi is a fantastic player with big ambitions who just keeps going from strength to strength! She’s great fun, a brilliant laugh and a real pleasure to have around the club. She knitted hair scrunchies in KHC colours to fundraise for the Lewy Body Society and we absolutely love them. She was also showing off her new tshirt with pride at training.

"We’re really pleased to be supporting The Lewy Body Society. Naomi joined the club at a really difficult time for her and her family but we are so proud that her love and talent for hockey kept her going, I know she is very honoured to support you this season."

🎨 Half term is just arounf the corner and we are inviting children aged 7-11 years to get creative and design something that helps explain dementia to other children. The possibilities are endless! Think posters, videos, collages, stories, comic strips, poems, Or anything else you can imagine!

✍️The more creative and imaginative, the better. We want to see your brightest ideas and unique ways of helping children understand dementia.
