What an absolutely fantastic Gala Day!

We were incredibly lucky with the weather, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces throughout the day. Our young members looked amazing in their fancy dress costumes, giving our guest judge, Tony from St Leonardโ€™s Church, the very difficult task of choosing the winners!

The creativity on display was outstanding:
๐ŸŽˆ The Beavers celebrated 40 years by wearing old-style uniforms.
๐Ÿค  The Brownies brought Toy Story to life.
๐ŸŒ The Explorers entertained everyone as characters from Despicable Me.
๐ŸŒˆ In 3rd place were the Squirrels, celebrating 5 years in a wonderfully bright and colourful display.
๐Ÿš— In 2nd place were the Scout Troop with their brilliant Back to the Future theme, complete with an amazing DeLorean replica.
๐Ÿฆ Taking 1st place were the Cubs as characters from The Jungle Book, a fitting celebration as Cubs mark their national 110th birthday this year.

Our Scout Band, who proudly led the carnival parade through the village with a mix of great tunes, giving every section the chance to show off their fantastic creations and hard work.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, whether by taking part, volunteering, cheering from the sidelines, or helping behind the scenes. We are especially grateful to the Bowling Club and St Leonardโ€™s Church for their support.

Most of all, thank you to our young people and leaders for making the day so special. We hope everyone who came along enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did! Short video clip in comments๐Ÿ˜Š

Happy St George's Day! ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ We are proud to celebrate a day that reflects so much of what scouting means - friendship, service, adventure and community.

A blast from the past! Video from 2020 when the world was in covid lockdown, but 1st MG Scouts still found a way to celebrate St Georges and bringing us all together using Zoom. This was the start of our St Georges service. ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
