Following two teenage males trying to remove the Ornamental Owl on Worsley Green, it has been moved by our Volunteers until it can be repaired and made safe, as the base has rotted away. The Police have been informed that we have moved the owl, the description of the males also given and the address it has been taken to for safe keeping until we can get it repaired safely.

Mowing and weeding, Pathway clearing, Seasonal gardening

Light cleaning, Setting up for services, Welcoming visitors, Serving Tea/Coffee etc,

A quick update on the work at St Johns Churchyard.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a meeting with Church Wigan, St John's Church and also an onsite meeting with the Payback team Manager. Unfortunately less parishioners going to church, means a reduction in revenue being brought into the church.

St John's PCC are now arranging a meeting with the contractor, Payback team and ourselves to work out a plan going forward to keep the churchyard safe, accessible and tidy.

It's been suggested that the contractor will be in twice a month through summer and payback team have already agreed to come in twice a week, with volunteers helping as well.

A Massive thankyou from ourselves and St John's PCC to everyone who made a donation through crowd funder, this means we can now arrange for mowers and strimmers for volunteers to help as well. Please support St John's Church any way you can, attending coffee mornings etc.

We'll provide more details shortly
