Wakefield Sea Cadets helps young people build confidence, teamwork and life skills through nautical training, drill and adventure in a safe, supportive environment. We use a nautical theme to help youngsters become
responsible adults, based on the traditions of the Royal
Navy, giving Cadets an opportunity to progress and take
up positions of responsibility as they acquire skills and
seniority,” continued Jean, who went on to say that on
reaching 18, many Cadets choose to stay on as adult
instructors.

⚓ Trafalgar Parade 2026 ⚓

A huge well done to all our cadets and staff who took part in today’s Trafalgar Parade alongside Leeds Sea Cadets! 👏💙

You all represented North District Sea Cadets brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who took part. Your commitment, teamwork and smart turnout helped make today a fantastic occasion. ⚓

A massive thank you to Leeds Sea Cadets for hosting us this year and helping make the day such a success.
We would also like to extend our thanks to HMS Ceres for welcoming us, providing us with the opportunity to train with you, and allowing us to spend the day with you. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated! 💙

Days like today are a great reminder of the pride, teamwork and friendships that make the Sea Cadets so special.

⚓💙 Farewell, AC Ball! 💙⚓

Last night, we said goodbye to AC Ball as he officially aged out of Wakefield Sea Cadets, bringing his Sea Cadet journey to an end.

It has been an absolute pleasure having you as part of our unit, and you have been a pleasure to teach. It is always a proud moment to see a cadet reach this milestone, and although it is sad to say goodbye, we hope you look back on your time with us with fond memories of the experiences, friendships and skills you have gained along the way.

From all the staff and cadets at Wakefield Sea Cadets, thank you for being part of our Sea Cadet family. As you move on to the next chapter of your life, we wish you every happiness and success in whatever you choose to do. Remember, although your time as a cadet has come to an end, you will always be part of our Sea Cadet family, and we will always be here for you whenever you need us. 💙

Today, we would also like to wish you a very Happy 18th Birthday! 🎂🥳 We hope you have a fantastic day celebrating this special milestone!

A quick reminder to all cadets and parents/carers that tonight is our Unit Review! 👏

🔹 Arrival: If possible, please arrive at 18:00.
🔹 Uniform: No. 1s (if issued), PCS or Junior uniform.
🔹 Inspection: All cadets’ uniforms will be inspected this evening!

👔 Please take a little extra time to get your uniform looking its absolute best! Make sure it’s clean, smartly pressed and worn correctly, with boots/shoes polished and hair neat and tidy.

⭐ Unit Review is a chance to show our pride, discipline and commitment as a unit. Let’s make sure Wakefield Sea Cadets look smart and give a fantastic impression!

⚓ A HUGE THANK YOU FROM WAKEFIELD SEA CADETS! ⚓

Yesterday, we had a fantastic day celebrating National Cadet Forces Week at Wakefield Army Reserve Centre! 💙

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to see us, find out more about what we do, and learn about the opportunities available through Wakefield Sea Cadets. It was lovely to meet you all and showcase the activities, skills and experiences our cadets enjoy.

A special thank you goes to our cadets and adult volunteers who gave up their time to support the event. Your dedication and support were invaluable, and we are incredibly proud of you all! 👏

We would also like to extend our thanks to The Mayor of Wakefield Brian Moorhouse, for taking the time to come and see us and have a chat with us all. It was a pleasure to welcome you, and hopefully we can have you back with us tying knots soon! 😊

Finally, a big thank you to Wakefield Army Reserve Centre for inviting us to spend the day with you. We really appreciated the opportunity to work alongside you and showcase what the Sea Cadets and Army Cadets have to offer as part of National Cadet Forces Week.
