We’re delighted to announce there will be a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at this year’s Wakefield Armed Forces Day ✈︎

Wakefield Armed Forces Day is on Saturday 4 July 2026 at Pontefract Park, featuring a Veterans Parade, military demonstrations and displays alongside street food, markets, funfair rides and more.

We are proud to be working with Steve Davies, Military Grave Restorer, to deliver a series of hands-on grave restoration workshops across the UK.

These are not just workshops.

Each event is an opportunity to help restore the grave of a Victoria Cross Sapper.

Real people, real stories, and a chance to play a small part in preserving their legacy.

From the Crimea to Rorke’s Drift, each location is tied to an act of extraordinary bravery:

• Aberdeen, restoring the grave of John Perie VC (Crimea, 1855)

Four of our members attended Bagden Hall for the 299 parachute sqn RE 20 year re-formation event today. Their Honorary Colonel Al Murray attended and gave an excellent speech. Unfortunately the planned sky dive/parachute drop had to be cancelled due to the typical British weather! As most of you know we hold our branch meetings at the Army Reserve Centre where 299 are based and we are very grateful for their hospitality and for inviting us to join this event today. 🇬🇧
