Just because the nights have got darker, it doesn't mean Scouts stop having outside adventures. Could you climb to new heights and abseil back down the other side like our Scouts did?

We're looking for adult volunteers!

If you enjoy supporting young people, having fun, and being part of a positive community, we’d love to welcome you into our team. You don’t need any experience — just enthusiasm, kindness, and a willingness to get stuck in.

Whether you can help weekly or just occasionally, in person or behind the scenes, your time makes a real difference.

Drop us a message if you’d like to find out more. We’d be excited to have you involved.

A HUGE thank you to the Beavers and Cubs (leaders and parent helpers too)
This morning, our fantastic Beavers and Cub Scouts were out in full force keeping College Grove looking smart.
The Beavers did an incredible job clearing the playing fields, while our Cubs took to the streets. With a massive team of 23 young people and 13 adults, we managed to collect 11 bags of rubbish and one gas canister, all safely bagged up and ready for the council to collect.
Do you like what we do? Do you have a bit of spare time to volunteer, make new friends, and have some fun?
We are always looking for extra adults to join our amazing team! Whether you want to join regularly or just lend a hand when you can, we have a role for everyone
⚜️ Section Leaders & Helpers – Work directly with our brilliant young people.
⚜️ Trustee Board Members – Help steer the direction of our group behind the scenes.
⚜️ Fundraisers – Help us raise vital funds for equipment and trips.
⚜️ Occasional Helpers – Just an extra set of hands when you have a free evening.
⚜️ Skill Sharers – Have a specialist interest or hobby? Come and run a one-off session!
Every single bit of time you give helps shape the youth of our future and gives them vital .

Spoiler: not everyone who volunteers with with us spends weekends hiking or evenings leading activities. Some do.

But others help us with social media, fundraising, governance, finance, event planning, admin and the many other things that keep Scouting in St John's going and growing. Whether you've got a specialist skill, or simply want to make a difference, there'll be a volunteering role that fits around you.

Drop us a message if you're interested in finding out more

Could you be a problem solver?

Our biggest challenge isn't finding young people as we have lots on our waiting list. Our biggest problem is finding volunteers to support the group for those young people to come off the waiting list.
Could you volunteer with us and solve our problem in creating more spaces here at Scouts in St John's?

🌒 Tonight’s solar eclipse, explained by Scouts…

Full moon. Half moon. Total eclipse.

Although, leave a plate of s’mores near our Scouts and that total eclipse may happen considerably faster than predicted! 😂🔥

What an amazing weekend we had at Challenge 26. Can you spot Harry from our Cubs who met Chief Scout Dwayne Fields?
