Old cameras. New ideas. 📸

Tonight, our Explorers got hands-on with everything from vintage film cameras to professional kit, with thanks to our brilliant guests. Now it’s over to them to see what they can create over half term.

Watch this space.

Blackpool weekend, done properly. 🌊🎡

Illuminations, piers, arcades, camping, a morning on the beach and an inevitably cold paddle in the sea. A full weekend of getting out, trying things and making the most of being away together.

Already looking back at a good one.

That’s a wrap on Blackpool! 🌃

One last stop under the illuminations before heading home. A great end to the weekend with Landvaettir Explorers.

🏳️‍🌈 Learning from each other

This week our Explorers explored Pride, identity and LGBTQIA+ through a quiz created by one of our own Explorers.

It covered everything from Pride and identity to a whole range of new terms and ideas — giving everyone the chance to learn something they might not have come across before.

👏 A huge well done to the Explorer who created the quiz. Taking the time to research, create and share something for the whole group is exactly the kind of youth-led Scouting we love.

Scouting is for everyone. We want every Explorer to feel welcome, respected and able to be themselves.

And perhaps most importantly, we’re all still learning. There’s always something new we can learn from each other. 💜

A night of teamwork, adventure and a little bit of mystery. 🌙🔥

Teams navigated through the woods to a secret location, built a temporary stream dam and created a platform for a fire beacon — which helped us light the candles on the birthday cake!

Plenty of teamwork, problem-solving and laughs along the way. And, importantly, everything was dismantled afterwards, leaving no trace. 🌲

This is Scouting. ⚜️

Part of something bigger. 💜⚜️

Tonight’s Investiture, in a pretty special place. A moment to remember, a promise to keep, and another step in a Scout journey that’s bigger than all of us.

Back to it! Firefighting practice, cooking up some dough twists and cremating cute marshmallow characters - that’s just how we roll….
