A huge well done to Simon, Steve and Christopher who have now reached Torbay Hospital on their incredible 100‑mile cycle challenge! 💪🚴‍♀️
After setting off bright and early from Derriford and stopping at the Royal Devon Hospitals Charity, they’ve pedalled their way to us here in Torbay. they’re not done yet… with another hilly 39-ish miles still to go back to Plymouth Hospitals Charity ⛰️
We’re so proud to be part of their journey, supporting three amazing NHS charities.
If you spot them on the road for the final stretch, give them a cheer 👏

BIG shout out to brothers Simon and Steve Clarke and friend Christopher Spencer, who are currently cycling a whopping 100 miles from Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Torbay Hospital and back to Derriford! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️

They set off at 6.30am today and have already called into Exeter for a quick water stop and pic after tackling the first 42 miles 💪

They are raising money for three NHS hospital charities – Royal Devon Hospitals Charity, Plymouth Hospitals Charity and Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity 💜🩷💛

Young fundraiser Evie has completed an amazing 35‑mile walking challenge, raising £493.13 for The Ricky Grant Day Centre at Torbay Hospital. 💙

As part of her Torbay and Devon Civic Award, Evie walked the full John Musgrave Heritage Trail in three stages. Inspired by the care her family has received through Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, Evie chose to give something back in a truly special way.

💜 A huge thank you to Hannah 💜
Last week, Hannah hosted a fun pink themed pub quiz and raised an amazing £371 for Ricky Grant Unit 👏🍻

After being diagnosed with breast cancer, Hannah learned about Polybalm during chemotherapy – a balm applied to the nails and cuticles to help prevent painful nail damage, a side effect that’s common but rarely talked about.

Thanks to our charity, Hannah was one of the first patients at Torbay Hospital to receive Polybalm, and she’s seen first‑hand how much difference it can make to comfort and wellbeing during treatment.

Inspired by her own experience, Hannah is raising money to ensure all patients undergoing chemotherapy can access Polybalm through the Ricky Grant Unit. So far, she’s raised over £2,500!

We’re proud to be featured in Devon Life Magazine this month, sharing how gifts in Wills help us bring warmth, dignity and calm into the places we care for one another.

Our hospitals hold so many of life’s biggest moments — birth and goodbye, reassurance and recovery. Thanks to legacy giving, we can quietly enhance those moments with thoughtful touches that soften a difficult day: artwork that brings colour and stillness, welcoming spaces that ease anxiety, and calming environments that help people breathe a little easier.
