On Friday evening we were incredibly proud to be chosen by Taunton Round Table 140 as their Charity of the Year at their annual Auction & Speaker Event! 🎉

We’re really looking forward to sharing the official event photographs and announcing the fantastic total raised, but in the meantime, here’s a photo of some of the Arc team who attended the evening.

A huge thank you to the members of the Round Table for giving us this wonderful opportunity to share more about the work we do, showcase our fantastic video and, most importantly, raise vital funds towards the renovations of our 45-bed hostel. 🙏

Donate a gift bag filed with goodies and help bring comfort, joy and hope to those facing homelessness this Christmas. ❤️

A lot of the fantastic work that happens at Arc goes on behind closed doors, so today we’re sharing a few snapshots of our wonderful Support Workers, Emma & Jess, delivering some beautiful fresh produce to one of our houses.

The people living in this home have been spending lots of time cooking and enjoying meals together in one of our recently refurbished kitchens. 🍽️

A big thank you to Emma and Jess for all they do to support the people we work with to enjoy these moments of independence, connection and community. 🙏

Last week, the whole team took a day away from the office to reflect on the year, celebrate and have some fun together!

The morning included team updates and a look at our 5-year strategy, but we also took the opportunity to celebrate our 50th anniversary! 🥳 There was delicious pizza from Ethic Street Pizza and, of course, lots and lots of cake! 🍕🍰

In the afternoon we took part in a Murder Mystery activity hosted by local author Jo Middleton. There were plenty of clues to uncover and plenty of detective work to undertake.

🎉 Taunton Carnival, you were a blast! 🎉

On Saturday night, our amazing staff and volunteers had a fantastic evening bucket collecting and raising awareness of Arc.

The atmosphere was brilliant, with plenty of dancing, laughter and smiles as we joined in the fun with the fantastic crowds who came along to enjoy the carnival!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated and stopped for a chat about our work. And, of course, a massive shout-out to our wonderful staff and volunteers for giving up their time to support Arc! đź’™

Last night Sam & Rosie got invited to a concert at Taunton Temple Methodist Church to hear Rhys; The Nightchurch Pianist perform for the launch of the Let’s Face It Homelessness exhibition.

Rhys is an extremely talented and inspirational individual who has currently raised over £42,000 for Homeless organisations after being homeless himself for 14years. He has also recently won the South West Pride of Britain Award.👏🏻

🎉 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS & THANK YOU, NICK FERNANDES! 🎉

Today, Nick completed his incredible 50 Miles for 50 Years Challenge, covering the distance in just one day by walking, kayaking and cycling! 🚶‍♂️🛶🚴‍♂️ What an amazing achievement! 👏💪

Nick was joined at various points along the way by the Mayor of Taunton, Councillor Bev Fernandes, and we are incredibly grateful to them both for choosing to support us. 💙🙏

A massive thank you to Nick for taking on this challenge and helping to raise vital funds for our cause.

Sam our Communications & Fundraising Officer has also been taking part in our 50 Miles for 50 Years Fundraising Challenge this weekend. đź‘Ł

Over the last two days she has completed 30 Miles across the two most difficult parts of the South West Coast Path with friends.

Today Sam will be completing the challenge solo by walking 20 Miles along the Tiverton Canal.

🎉 We are super excited to share that next Thursday Nick Fernandes will be completing our 50 Miles for 50 Years Challenge! 🎉

On the 15th of October, Nick will be taking on an incredible 50 miles in one day! đź’Ş

His challenge will involve:

🚶 10 miles walking to the Grand Western Canal
🛶 11 miles kayaking along the canal
đźš´ 29 miles cycling back to Taunton

In support of Nick, Mayor of Taunton, Councillor Bev Fernandes, will be meeting him at the changeover points, before he completes his challenge outside of Arc. 🙌

Today we collected our fantastic 50 Miles for 50 Years challenge T-shirts, kindly printed by Shirt Attack and modelled by our brilliant Admin Support Assistant, Matilda! đź‘•

Over the next couple of weeks, we have some very brave souls who have signed up and are taking on the challenge, and we can’t wait to share more about these with you all! 💪🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

There’s still time to take part and help us raise some much-needed funds. Every mile and every donation will make a difference. 💙
