Providing expert end-of-life and palliative care for adults and their families in Somerset.

For over four decades we have championed a simple but important belief – that people facing a life-limiting illness deserve the best possible care and compassion, so they can live well and die well. In that time, we have become a household name, firmly rooted in local communities throughout Somerset delivering free, expert end-of-life and palliative care for adults and their families. Each year we help over 4,800 people with our care and positively impact the lives of many thousands more who come together to fundraise in memory of loved ones, shop with us, attend our events and volunteer. Today it costs the charity in the region of £15m per year to run our full range of services with two third of this covered by fundraising activities.

Why do the Taunton Tinsel Trot?

It’s a chance to get together, have some festive fun and fill the streets of Taunton with Christmas cheer. But there’s an important reason behind every step.

The Taunton Tinsel Trot raises vital funds for St Margaret’s Hospice, helping us provide compassionate care and support to people across Somerset facing a life-limiting illness.

So when you run, jog or walk the Tinsel Trot this December, you’re doing more than taking on a festive 5k. Every step helps us care for local people and their families when they need us most.

FRIDAY FUNDRAISER TIME!

This week, we’ve got a brilliant group of supporters who took the the Snowdon at Night Challenge in October to raise vital funds for St Margaret’s Hospice.

Setting off around midnight, the team trekked up the infamous Welsh mountain, reaching the peak at sunrise.

Together, they have raised over £30,000, which could pay for a fortnight of care for two patients on our In-Patient Unit.

Come and soak up the end of half-term vibes at Taunton Racecourse - with food, sweets, a bar, and of course - professional fireworks set to music by renowned pyrotechnics company Sonic Fireworks & Events

And the best bit? It's all for a good cause. Every ticket helps St Margaret's continue to care for local people facing life-limiting illnesses in Somerset.
