📣We’re Recruiting Trustees - Join Our Team📣
The Roots Foundation Wales is looking for new Trustees to join our Board. This is a voluntary role, and we’d particularly love to hear from care leavers, foster carers and kinship carers who can bring valuable lived experience to our Board.
Roots supports young people in care as they transition to independent living and adulthood, as well as supporting foster and kinship carers. We’re growing, with a new 3-year strategy and a new house for young people opening in 2027. 🏡
A message from our Youth Panel
“Roots is our home from home, it’s a place where we can share our personal experiences and always be supported. Building good relationships with the staff and other young people is very important to us. It’s important to have staff who are respectful, caring and trustworthy while being able to have fun and enjoy a bit of banter! We need someone who is honest, responsible and appreciative of the fact that Roots is like our family.”
As a Trustee, you’ll help shape our future, support good governance and bring your experience, skills and perspective to our work.
You don’t need previous Trustee experience - full induction and training are provided, and reasonable expenses are covered.
We’d also particularly welcome applications from young people, disabled people, Welsh speakers and people living in Swansea and the surrounding area.
