Healthwatch is the consumer champion for everyone who uses health and social care services in Sunderland.

Local Healthwatches have been set up across England to create a strong, independent consumer champion whose aim is to:
• Strengthen the collective voice of citizens and communities in influencing local health and social care services to better meet their needs
and
• Support people to find the right health and social care services for them by providing appropriate information, advice and signposting.

Healthwatch Sunderland is supporting County Durham and Sunderland Foodbank with this year’s harvest collection. We’re asking anyone who can to donate an item from the shopping list (see attached list). This is a great cause that helps people in our community who are facing hardship.

👩‍🍼Mini Minds and Me is here to support parents and carers with their wellbeing.
Being a parent can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging at times. Mini Minds and Me is a free six-week course from Sunderland Talking Therapies, designed to help parents and carers develop practical strategies to improve their mental health and wellbeing using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.
The programme covers topics including the challenges of parenthood, self-care, managing anxiety, communication skills, and building resilience. Participants will learn helpful techniques they can use in everyday life to support their wellbeing.
