STSCharity

STSCharity The registered charity of South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. More information is available at www.stsft.nhs.uk/our-charity.

Our charity goes above and beyond for those in South Tyneside, Sunderland and the surrounding areas. With the generous support of our staff, patients, their families and friends, we are able to:

- fund specialist equipment
- make our hospitals more comfortable for those who need them
- provide the necessary extras that make a difference

Our work is made possible by those who donate, fundraise an

d volunteer to support our charity. Some have even left a gift in their will to continue making a difference even after they have left us. The charity is registered with the Charity Commission as the South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Funds (charity number 1052366).

Sid the Seahorse cares very much about our environment, and so do our staff!

Today he joined some of our teams at Clarendon to take part in a bit of "plalking" (aka litter picking whilst walking).

Every lunchtime South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust staff can grab a litter-picker from Clarendon reception, enjoy a walk together and help keep our outdoor spaces litter-free.

Another example of our brilliant staff going above and beyond!

We're skipping in to Friday, thanks to fundraiser, Vicar Mike Bradley...

Mike set up himself a challenge to 'skip against cancer' and has now skipped over 35,500 skips across the North East, in just one month (equivalent to around 15 miles!).

Mike said:

"I’m grateful to the many staff who are part of the Phoenix Unit. They help hundreds of patients weekly, not only with ‘medicine,’ but also with professionalism and kindness. I am forever grateful."

We are incredibly grateful to Mike - aka the Skipping Vicar - for thinking of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust patients and families affected by cancer.

Mike, you are truly an inspiration.

Well done and thank you for your incredible achievement🌟

A huge boost for the STSCharity Vision Appeal! 👁️💙

We’re delighted to share that Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) has donated an incredible £220,000 to the STS Charity Vision Appeal, helping us create the very best environment for patients, visitors and staff when the new Eye Hospital opens in the city centre this summer.

This amazing contribution will support enhancements that go beyond NHS funding, from specialist equipment to more welcoming spaces, ensuring everyone who walks through the doors benefit from the very best possible environment, equipment and experience.

Thank you, RVS. Your support will make a real difference for years to come in our community.
