A 7.25 Inch gauge Miniature Railway. Steam, Electric and Diesel rides to the Public every Sunday from Easter to October, Wednesdays in the school holidays.

The Teesside Small Gauge Railway (TSGR) is primarily a model engineering club devoted to the running, maintaining and development of 7.25" gauge steam locomotives, electric locomotives, petrol locomotives and rolling stock for both club members and passenger running (public). During the running season, Easter until the end of October, we run every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. Also, we usually open on bank holidays and selected days in the school holidays.

Big thanks to everyone who came down on Wednesday for our half-term Halloween special - the response was unprecedented!

We'll be back again both days this weekend, 1-4pm - yes, that's right, 🎃 Saturday 🎃 as well as Sunday!

Please also note that Sunday will be our final public running day of the season, so don't delay your last visit of the year any longer!

Find us at the top end of Preston Park, beyond the bandstand. Follow the yellow signs from the car park and listen out for the horns & whistles.

The weather for Wednesday looks much better, so we hope to be running trains (with a spooooky twist) from 1-4pm.

£2 each for two laps of our track (under 3s free). You can find us beyond the bandstand at the North end of Preston Park. Follow the yellow signs from the car park and listen out for the horns & whistles.

And remember, please keep your arms, legs and heads inside the coaches at all times!

Update at 11.55am - unfortunately we have taken the decision not to run today due to the current and forecasted weather conditions, for volunteer and passenger safety. Hopefully back on Wednesday as it's half term - watch this space.

We are going to attempt to run trains tomorrow in between showers - fingers crossed the wind is manageable. We will update here if things change, otherwise we'll be there between 1 and 4pm.

Rides cost £2 each (under 3s free) for two laps of the circuit. Trains may be steam or diesel hauled.

It's been a busy old season and, as well as some very well-attended Sundays, we enjoyed some excellent Wednesday running days during the summer holidays - thank you all for your continued support!

Now it's back to maintenance days to continue the many projects, such as finishing the guard's coach, repairing the turntable, fabrication of new pointwork, overhauling Bagnall's valve gear, a full overhaul of Sian, and a new chassis for Franky, to name a few...

Not forgetting the less photogenic jobs including the endless gardening and piping a new air line through the workshop.

We're always happy to welcome new members for running and/or workshop days, with as much or as little commitment as you wish. Come down and see us or send us a Facebook message - previous experience welcome but not necessary!
