Funding from Tees Million is helping Golden Smog Warriors grow their volleyball sessions, creating more opportunities for people to come together through sport.

More recently, they have welcomed members of the local Filipino community, many of whom work at local hospitals, and are looking forward to developing these sessions even further.

It's fantastic to see funding helping to build new friendships, strengthen community connections and make sport accessible to even more people.

A huge well done to the Golden Smog Warriors team for making such a positive impact in our local community. 👏

Thank you Linking Routes for this lovely photograph.

Thanks to funding from Tees Million and Redcar and Cleveland Council, children in smaller towns and villages had the opportunity to take part in exciting activities and be part of their local parade. The children were delighted to get involved and chose the name Hunnie Angel for the Polar Bear.

Thank you for entering our Snap, Shoot & Share prize draw for the chance to win a £1,000 grant! ✨

We know how much community groups rely on funding to keep their activities going. That’s why we love hearing how our Snap, Shoot and Share winners are using their prize to make an even bigger difference.

When Golden Smog Warriors found out they had won, their response was simple:

"It will make a HUGE difference!"

Their £1,000 prize will help expand their free-to-play flag football sessions by providing more equipment, giving everyone the chance to get involved and allowing games to take place with everything participants need.

The funding will also help them grow their volleyball sessions. More recently, they have welcomed members of the local Filipino community, many of whom work at local hospitals, and are looking forward to developing these sessions even further.

Most importantly, winning has allowed Golden Smog Warriors to continue running their Get Involved sessions right through until November, giving even more people the opportunity to take part.

Thank you so much to Golden Smog Warriors for sharing your story with us – and congratulations again on your well deserved win.

Thanks to funding from Tees Million, Greatham Sports Field was able to purchase new team shelters, helping to create a more comfortable environment on match days.

The shelters provide protection from the weather while also giving players a dedicated space to come together, support one another and build team spirit. Player welfare is a top priority for the club and this investment has helped enhance the experience for young people taking part in sport.

Well done to everyone involved for supporting the next generation of local talent!

A big thank you to Lift Right Weightlifting CIC for sharing this fantastic video!

Thanks to funding from Tees Million, the group has been able to promote and grow its Teen Weightlifting class, giving more young people the opportunity to learn Olympic weightlifting in a safe and supportive environment alongside their friends.

As well as developing strength, coordination and confidence, the sessions encourage independence, build resilience and help young people develop the skills to stay active safely for years to come.

Thank you for entering our Snap, Shoot and Share prize draw for the chance to win a £1,000 grant. It's brilliant to see the positive impact you're making in the community. 💪

We’re delighted that our funding is helping make further sessions possible in October and February👏
