Hi All

As we now move into a very busy period for us local veterans, one of our biggest events is for my local community here in Norton, THE CHILDREN’S/COMMUNITY DRUMHEAD REMEMBRANCE SERVICE, and is on Saturday 7th of November.

All veterans parade with the uniform youth services and children from primary schools from our local area, at the The Moline Cross and better known to us as Norton Cricket Club. We form up from 10:15 and hope to step off with the children at approximately 10:30 hours. This is a great opportunity to give the youth of our nation an opportunity to carry out a physical act of Remembrance, by placing a large home-made Poppy around the field square. We need all local veterans for this most Honourable Event. (photos Attached)

On Sunday, the 8th of November 2026 is remembrance Sunday, and I will be doing my own act of Remembrance at approximately 11:00 hours, at St Mary's Church on Norton Village Green.

Hi All

As we now move into a very busy period for us veterans, here are a few events for your diaries.

Poppy Appeal starts on Saturday, the 24th of October, through to Friday, the 6th of November 2026. Anybody that wishes to do a stag on a POPPY table please private message me ASAP, or contact Rob and Lin at the RBL.

Middlesbrough FC remembrance match is on Saturday, the 31st of October and if you require tickets, again contact Rob and Lin at the RBL.

A big event for my local community here in Norton is the, CHILDREN’S/COMMUNITY DRUMHEAD REMEMBRANCE SERVICE, on Saturday 7th of November. 44 years ago today, the mighty 3 PARA along with many men and women from ALL three ARMED services were called to ARMS. The time has flown by, but the memories are always with me. I was fortunate enough in those days to SERVE with some very fine and courageous soldiers, and I have always remembered those that did not return. RIP THE FALLEN 🙏

I laid my wreath today at my local Cenotaph in Stockton-On-Tees, and also gave the Cenotaph a good cleanup.🫡

I’ll be having a few Guinnesses tonight, and for those that know, you know where. 🍺🍺🍺

As already posted. Two of our branch members, Alex Campbell and Paul Harris have Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for charity. Today I received photographs from Alex and Paul showing they have submitted Mount Kilimanjaro.

Thanks to all those that have donated to the three charities, and for supporting these two extremely talented young men on their trip to the African subcontinent.

We hope you like their photos.
