Mud Plant Rave is happening today at Midsummer Festival!🌿

Drawing on ritual, rave culture, communal celebration, and sensory play, Mud Plant Rave invites people to step out of the everyday and into a shared experience with plants, soil, water, and one another.

Middlesbrough, Northallerton, Saltburn, and Stokesley and Villages Repair Cafes will be joining forces over the Festival weekend to offer a drop-in Repair Cafe for all ages.

📍The Allotment Patch

It’s an opportunity to bring selected items that you need repairing, to be repaired, or even better… learn how to repair yourself!

Items that will be accepted for repairs: computer equipment / phones, display and sound equipment, small furniture items, small electric household appliances, small non-electric household appliances, household ornaments, jewelry, textiles, electric tools, non-electric tools, electric toys, and non-electric toys.

We are delighted to announce that FareShare North East are generously supplying surplus snacks for our volunteers and running a fun-filled Love Food, Hate Waste workshop in collaboration with Nourish Food School at the Festival💚

📣Travel Announcement 📣 Wondering how to get to Thrift? Check out our website to find out which options work for you.

🚲 Festival Bike Storage:
Festival attendees travelling by bike can park their bikes with Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (near the Walled Garden).

They can also give your bike a MOT Health Check whilst you enjoy the Festival.

🚆 Public Transport:
The closest train station to the museum is Redcar Central. This station is serviced regularly by the Northern Rail service from Bishop Auckland to Saltburn. This is 3 miles from the festival site.

🚗 Festival Car Park:
If you are driving, please consider car sharing to reduce your carbon footprint in your journey to and from the Festival.

Please park in the free main Festival public car park on the Kirkleatham showgrounds to avoid congestion in surrounding residential areas. No pre-booking required.

Drawing on ritual, rave culture, communal celebration, and sensory play, Mud Plant Rave invites people to step out of the everyday and into a shared experience with plants, soil, water, and one another.

It will be popping up a Festival of Thrift 4 - 5 July in Kirkleatham, Redcar, but also at Midsummer Festival on 21 June (in Milton Keynes) and at Just So Festival on 21, 22 & 23 August (in Cheshire).
